| just had surgery on friday.
I am out of the hospital and i'm on tylenoy 3's i got a stool softener today but they ddin't have a luqid one so we got the gel caps and tried to poke a hole it is and take it that way.. BAD IDEA.. i coudln't eat it it tasted just horrible... so tomorrow i will get the stool softener... my concern now is that i seem to have a lot of lower abdominal pain i think caused by gas..what can i take to relieve the gas?? i don't want lots of cramps or anything and it still hurts sometimes to burp... can anyone help??

Check with your surgeon, but you should be able to swallow the gel cap....that being said, gas x is wonderful for gas pains, but you probalby need to clear that with your surgeon too...I was taking pills the next morning after surgery...

Hello, Congratulations and welcome to the loser's bench. One of the best things I can recommend for the gas pain is to walk, walk, walk. Take it slow and steady, but the walking helps. I would walk at least three times a day, but if the gas pain was more, I would walk alittle more. Have a great day!

congratulations on your surgery - the best thing for the gas pains is to move around. to walk walk walk - take it easy and slow. but moving around gets the gas moving around and out.

omg you mean i shoudl be needing to crush up tylenol 3's right now??? because that stuff tastes horrible LOL.. i can just take it wiht some water or something??.. and i'm kinda confused becuase the sheet said low fat which i knew but i though i couldn't have sugar but my post op is saying i can have pudding and yogurt and sherbert and it saws low fat but nothing about sugar free :S... ALSO i want to let everyone know It no longer hurts to burp and i was out walking around today. After sleeping in a decent bed I felt 100% better thani did yesterday it's unbelieveable!!. I am seeing the surgeon wed. morning before we head back to winnipeg!!... now that i am not in so much pain I am justso excited for this new part in my life..
