Hello everyone,

When I first had my surgery, every vitiman I took my my stomach upset. At some point on this web site I saw a post about Optisource and ordered them. They really taste great and I am having no problems chewing and getting them down. BUT now I am finding that I am having problems going to the bathroom. Can anyone suggest a laxative that will help and we are able to take?:conf used:

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I actually have a few prunes every couple days or so, just a few, but it depends on if that is a fruit that is too high in sugar for those very sensitive to dumping. I know there are others here who use other products and they will answer you soon. Good luck!

I have used Miralax but found that for me 2 dulcolax every night does the trick.

Laxative usage should not be used on a daily basis. Stool softeners can help, and I used those for several months, and they finally stopped working. I did try Miralax and only had limited results. I get better results from drinking an herbal tea each evening about 10 PM. Relaxing and natural ingredients help, and "everything is smooth" the next day. I've used these teas for over 3 months now with very good results. DAVE

I take Colace (or DSS, for the generic), a stool softener, every night. The capsules are small enough for my pouch. My GP recommended it, and his wife has had WLS.

I was taking Miralax, but I have a history of laxative dependency.

So, per my nutritionist's recommendation, I have begun taking a little "Inulin", or FOS, which is a soluble fiber and considered a "prebiotic", every day. It is the same stuff they use in Fiber One yogurt, which for me, has too many carbs. FOS is sold in bulk. I have not figured out if it helps very much yet. I am a little more gassy, I notice, which is a bit bothersome.

3 weeks ago a wrote on here about having severe pain in my stomach. called my wls dr and they ordered a ct scan, i was thinking that it was an internal hernia like i had before (pain was the same) the pain doubled me over and i had a hard time breathing. well, the outcome of the ct scan was severe constipation. never knew it could cause that kind of pain. they told me to take miralax, it didnt work, i have been trying everything, very little results.....im stumped, so im glad for this thread and open to any ideas.........
