Was wondering if anyone here has been dx with PCOS? Have you seen improvement since having the surgery? I've had it for years and it makes weight loss even more difficult. I went though infertility treatments in 2003 and 2004 and that is how I conceived my now 4 year old daughter. Would love to have another baby -- which I hope is "doable" after the bypass? Also hoping to restore my fertility. Any insight?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

A LOT of our memebers have PCOS. Your fertility should improve once you've lost weight.

I had PCO, but was able to fluke out three pregnancies and two live births. By the time I had WLS, I was pretty much menopausal. Sorry I can't help further.

I have PCOS and had fertility treatments for BOTH my children and I'm done. so I wouldn't be able to help you about the after surgery part. I will say, after I had my SECOND child, my system seemed to kick start and I started having regular cycles, although I still have some of the other symptoms of PCOS. I weighed the same too, I hadn't lsot any weight. I was irregular cycles before and never had any mature follicles develope to produce mature eggs, so that's what I needed help with. I don't know if the mature egg developement has improved since I"m not TTC any more, but I do have cycles that are almost clock work now.

I have read, as Doc said, that losing weight should help with the PCOS and the ability to get/and stay pregnant.

Good luck!!!!!
