| WLS Mentor | I know sugar products are a no no after the surgery, and should be for me now because of the diabetes. But yesterday in my grocery store's pharmacy i found a whole bunch of products under the title of "diabetic" I found this wonderful creamy, lushious white chocolate chocolae bar with 3g of sugar and less than 5carbs. Will i be able to eat this after the surgery when i get back to real food? Not that i'd do it all the time, but white chocolate is to die for for me.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I mean the sugar and the carbs sound safe but you should tell us the other things on the label. SOMETIMES there are sugars listed and sugar alochols...and then of course some consdiration to calories. ITS alot to watch the item sounds like it might be okay. I would just hate you to eat foods that cause stalls. FOR me to much artificial sweetner products will do it for me as well as they trigger my cravings ((HUG)))

| Super Moderator | Hmmm, what about the fat content? You know chocolates are rich in fats, and the chart I have on hand for food contents has it that white chocolates are actually higher in calorie and fat than milk chocolate... At any rate, it's going to be a question of whether you can tolerate it or not, and if you do take a bite, you keep it at a bite, and no more. No hogging it. If you can keep your cravings under control, and make healthy choices, then a bite once in a while shouldn't do harm.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | ....that I just don't like the candies that are artificially sweetened. I know that there are a couple Stover's candies that I liked at the beginning...but sometime during our road trip...I bought some sugar free Reese's & Hershey's...(I actually think I bought them at a truck stop near Janae's house on our way back to TX...after our first trip to NYC.) they were not sooo great. YUCK! I haven't been back to try them since June...glad you've found something that you like birdie.... Careful though, ok??

Height: | Kay so I will tell ya that I absolutely love the Sugar Free Godiva Dark Chocolate bars, but am not sure about the sugar alcohols in them or for sure the fat. I do remember hearing that Dark Chocolate is the best for us due to antioxidants or something else healthy like that in it. So if ya gotta indulge, I would suggest acquiring a taste for the dark. | WLS Mentor | Don't get me wrong, chocolate is chocolate is chocolate is yummy in my tummy. Well, i can't tell you the fat content or anything else at this moment because i had kept the wrapper but showed it to Roo who i believe put it in his wallet so next time he goes there he can get me the right thing. I do remember that the fats seemed low. (sigh)I guess i'll just have to have another one so i can tell you all what's in it, tehee.Sugar free Godiva dark chocolate bars? Can these be purchased through a grocery store? I've never seen them when i've been looking at chocolate before. Gotta look.

| WLS Mentor | So i just had to go get one of those white chocolate bars last night so i could give you all the lo down. calories = 18 fat = 13g Saturated =8g trans =0g cholesteral = 5mg soduim = 20mg carbohydrate =19g fiber = 0g sugar =3g maltitol =14g protien =2g Vitamin A =2% calcium =8% Vitamin C =0% iron = 12% ok, i was wrong about the carbs, what the package actually says is impactible carbs 5g So are they as good as i thought, or will i have to stay away from them?

| Super Moderator | Hmmmm? The calories don't exactly add up. Carbs/alcohol/protein=4kcal/1g fat=9kcal/1g So, that should be.. calories = 18 fat = 13gx9=117 Saturated =8gx9=72 carbohydrate =19gx4=76 sugar =3gx4=12 maltitol =14gx4=56 protein =2gx2=4 Which brings the total kcals to 337. If saturated fat is actually included in total fat, then the kcals are included in the 117 for fat, so the total kcal is 265. Now, if the cal listed was for one piece whereas the ingredients are for 100g of the chocolate, then, I can understand.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I dont know dont get hooked on such a product. MALITOL counts as a sugar! SO that alone brings it well over the 10 grams i dont exceed in products and much earlier out i was 7 grams in an item. THEN you have the other sugar. YOU know you have mentioned your stomach bothering u some and MALITOL is known to aggrevate stomachs even without surgery. ALL the best lisa
