In doing the tests, they found that my gall bladder looked like a gravel quarry. The largest was 27 mm (over an inch), and they went down in size from there. The first I heard about it was about 20 minutes before they wheeled me into the operating room when the surgeon came in, told me, and handed me a release to sign. The way he put it was "it's not a matter of IF you have it out, it's a matter of how much pain would you like to have before you do?" So I woke up with a couple of extra holes in my belly. Never missed it.
