Default Doc ... I have a question for a friend

Hey Doc,

A friend of mine who has been going to all the pre surgery classes and appointments with me is having the Realize Band done. When having the GI test they found a large gull stone. She is waiting to talk to her surgeon but in the mean time she is trying to find out if they could do both surgeries at once. Is there any reason why they would not be able to remove the gall bladder and also put the Realize Band in at the same time? She is worried she will have to have two surgeries. Thanks in advance!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

A lot of people have it done at the same time, as gall stones are a risk for attacks later on as one loses the weight.
So, her surgeon will probably want to take it out at the time of surgery.

Thanks Doc! I had told her to relax that I thought things could be done at the same time. She was panicky as the nurse who called her to set up the appointment to come in to see her surgeon said that the gall bladder would have to be removed first. She was worried about how she was going to manage that many days off from work. This will make her relax a little until she talks to the surgeon.

In doing the tests, they found that my gall bladder looked like a gravel quarry. The largest was 27 mm (over an inch), and they went down in size from there. The first I heard about it was about 20 minutes before they wheeled me into the operating room when the surgeon came in, told me, and handed me a release to sign. The way he put it was "it's not a matter of IF you have it out, it's a matter of how much pain would you like to have before you do?" So I woke up with a couple of extra holes in my belly. Never missed it.
