Default Protein?

I am on orders to be on clear liquid diet for 3 weeks. Shouldn't I be getting protein?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

At this point, worry first about not getting dehydrated. Protein can wait. If clear liquids include broth, then drink chicken broth, that has some protein in it.
Check your written diet plan if you've been given one, it's likely that you can expand some after the first week to things like SF jello and bariatric protein bullets and some shakes.

Ditto Doc...my surgeon said focus on hydration week 1...add in calcium on week 2 (vitamins) and then add protein in on week 3.....you can help some by doing broth, which will keep you hydrated and add protein...go slow...I did a lot of SF jello and crystal light at your stage....

The first few weeks of clear and liquid I had chicken broth, unjury chicken broth, protein bullets, isopure (yuk) and protein shakes. The isopure and bullets are protein that is good for 'clear' stage. Then the broths soon after. Good luck!

My surgeon required 60g protein daily from day 3 on. They had protein drinks, broths, juices etc... to choose from. But I would do what ever your doc says.

I just reread my stuff and it says protein supplement so I'm drinking Nectar (fuzzy navel) as I read and write. Protein is so important for tissue repair. So I feel good about it and I'm doing fine with it. I haven't vomitted yet at all.
