Default Place to get protein powder other than WM??

Hi everyone....I need some options other than what you can buy at WM. EAS and Slim Fast Carb Control don't sit well with me and I've been drinking some fruity ones.

I'm trying to find some alternatives to my Synthrax (?) Nectars.. Fuzzy Navel and Peach.. that Kath and Sarah recommended. They were good when mixed with my Crystal light Fruit punch but I'm looking for some variety.

I've been reading about people having some yummy flavors... Mocha.. Peanut butter (I'd really like to try this), that others have tried and mixed in with other things... is there a particular store or website you order them from???

Thanks in advance...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I like unjury.. I mix the chocolate in my coffee after it cools a little and it is very good. I use the vanilla in different drinks. It is really good in the sugar free orange drink from WM it taste like a dream sickle bar. There is a link to there site at the bottom of this page. There are many more out there I am sure others will have suggestions also. Good luck

Good luck Martha!

unjury.com
ibariatric.com
nutrition.com
revivalsoy.com
bariatriceating.com

Revival has soy chips, soy pasta (later...) but they also have soy coffe that you can brew (cafinated and decafinated).

Unjury has powder and chicken broth.

Nutrition has protein puddings.

the bariatric ones have all kinds of stuff.

And health food stores have whey, soy and egg white protein powders.

I myself mostly used the bullets in the beginning (and till about 5 - 6 months out) because I couldn't stand much AND am lactose intolerant (whey is diary).

And of course there are the achieve one's. For me now that I eat pretty much just normal, one achieve a day is both a treat and my major protein source.

What stage are you at - there are all kinds of foods/snacks that have protein at the bariatric web sites. But they are not a big amount, it's just that if you do feel the need to have something crunchy, it might as well be a soy chip or something that has protein.

With the protein powders you have to get creative. Plain fat free yogurt with a scoop of vanilla protein and no sugar added apple sauce.
Peanut butter protein in skim milk with a bananna...(personally...gag...)

The protein puddings were not so bad. A lot of pre made things are made with very little dairy fat/lactose free if that is an issue for you. Some aren't. You just have to try!

Hope this helped - I'm sure others have more ideas/sources.

Thanks everyone...

Denise.. I'm not quite 2 months out. Still on fork tender foods, no crunch stuff yet. Hopefully, when I go for my appt on the 12th, she will add some more variety to my diet.

This is a good thread for me as well. I will just tell you that I can't stomach the chicken soup protein from Unjury. I also cannot stomach fuzzy navel Nectar anymore. I need to buy some chocolate flavor, but my main source right now is Carnation Instant Breakfast, sugar free. I have to drink it slow though. It hurts if I drink it too fast.

Nurse.. that's because the carnation is a bit thicker. That's why I don't like the Slim Fast Carb Control. It was a bit thicker going down and made me feel bloated as I drank it. I also didn't like the Fuzzy Navel mixed with just water. I had to mix it with Crystal light Fruit punch and have more like 12-16 oz of liquid instead of the 8 it calls for to dilute it a bit. Once I found the combination, I liked it much better than the Peach.

I got tired of Chocolate EVERYTHING when I purchased the fruity flavors. I've only had choc., vanilla and the 2 fruit flavors I mentioned.

I like nectar cherry, I have tried others and keep coming back to this one. I also like unflavored unjury that way I can have any flavor I want when mixed with crystal light or 4c. I try to stay away from Nutrasweet but its kind of hard. But I do use the cherry because it is a splenda sweetener instead of the others in that line which most have nutrasweet. I am a stevia eater but its only now finally coming into its own.

I just purchaed this today. I haven't tried it yet. I did try a sample of cappucino flavor Nectar and it's pretty good. I just wish it had the caffeine with it. (I know we can't have caffeine.)
