Question Confused....please help!

I'm 4 weeks post op and absolutely have a taste for everything. Not hungry...just wanting to eat things I'm not certain I should be eating. Chicken caeser salad is a big one. I'm afraid of falling off track and am not sure what to do. Pasta? Bread? What do I do? And it's not like I wanna splurge and go nuts either. Just a couple of bites to feel satisfied. Please help! Does anyone remember when these things can be eaten again? Lettuce especially? I heard this early out it can be a bit tough on the stomach. Any advice please....

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I don't know what your doctor says at this stage but it was 8 weeks before I could even eat purred food. I do remember getting very tired of liquids. It will pass before you know it and it will get better. I have just now started to eat lettuce. I believe at this stage is really head hunger but that is bad enough... I hope you feel better. Good luck on your journey. Just remember it does get better with time.

I was not allowed to eat salad until 3 to 4 months post-op. Whatever you do not feed the carb monster, I know it is hard. I know it is hard to eat when you are not hungry. Did you surgeon give you a do and don'ts list? Every surgeon is so different. Try to schedule out your meals .. breakfast - lunch - dinner and keep up with your liquids.

Hang in there things will be ok .. we are here for you!

Follow YOUR surgeon's instructions...that is the rule.

Your stomach was bypassed, not your brain. Bread/pasta/rice put us in the situation that eventually got us into the O.R. for bypass surgery. Your head is still used to thinking that those foods are all you need to be satisfied.

RE: the salad...wait until your doctor gives you clearance for those foods. There is a reason you need to wait and he/she knows best. The fat in Cesear dressing is not good for you either...it can make you dump.

Hang in there, sister. You will be fine.

It does sound like head hunger a bit ~ the funny thing for me was at this stage the foods I wanted didn't taste right when I got them! This is why you'll see us talk about our taste buds changing. Hang in there

Ask your OWN Dr and see what he allows. So many are different in here. That is the best advice I can give you.

I'm just going to tell you straight out NO! Stay away from bread, pasta and all that other fatty and unhealthy food. They could make you sick and most of all get you going down a road you DO NOT want to be back on.
It is hard but you have to fight that fat beast in your mind that is trying to sabotage you. It is used to you being overweight and always turning to food. It knows just what you like and will use it against you every time. FIGHT IT! You have to be victorious over it or it will consume you sooner or later.
OK with that said, I know you can do it. I went through the same thing and still fight my fat beast but you know what I refuse to go backwards. I'm not letting it take me down like before. I am changing the fat beast into a healthy beast. It may be a slow process but hey I'm not giving in. A healthy thinking mind equals a healthy way of eating wich equals a healthy you with great results.
I wish you all the best and I am rooting for you Girl!

Follow YOUR surgeon's schedule and rules.

That said. You will eventually be able to eat the foods you miss and crave--which is what head hunger is-- in small amounts that your pouch allows, but you may be surprised by how it tastes. Not as good as your head hunger tells you

This is one of the most important things that you need to do for success--learn to stick to your surgeon's rules no matter what, and ride out the temptations.

(((((HUGS))))) You can do it!!!
