Default Worried

Morning,
I'm going to call my surgeon as soon as they open but I hoped someone else might have experience to share here. For the last four days most any non-liquids I have eaten feel like they are stuck in my throat. It's happening with things I was eating just fine a week ago. At first I thought I was eating too fast and slowed way down paid attention to my chewing, but it's gotten to the point that after a couple bites of bean soup or egg or whatever I feel like I have a softball in my throat. I've also started getting what I assume are the foamies with it. It's making to so hard to get in my protein and fluid and it's so frustrating I feel like I could cry right now. To top it off I flying from Texas to California tomorrow (with surgeon's permission) for my daughter's graduation. Has anyone had experience with a stricture? Did they get you in right away to take care of it? Did you have to stay in the hospital and did they put you out for the endoscopy to fix it?
Thank you for any input,
Pirate

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

just got off the phone with the PA. He said it could be a stricture and is going to get me in as soon as possible. Told me to stick with protein drinks and fluid until then. My over active post-op emotions and not eating well the last few days is really catching up with me. Can't stop crying and that is hurting my throat more lol.
sorry to be so whiny this morning.

((((HUGS)))) It does sound like a stricture, but so long as fluids are going down, don't worry too much. The first scope may be just to check things out, and you may have a second scope scheduled for dialation, but basically, you won't need a hospital stay.
Many of our memebers have experienced strictures and have come out very well from the experience. You'll do fine.

Ahoy Pirate... I'm dealing with the same issue myself right now... everything solid I eat makes me feel sick, so I'm sticking with my fruit smoothie protein shakes and sipping my water. Hang in there... I totally understand the emotional roller coaster, but put your faith in your Dr to help you get over this tiny bump in the road. :-)

Just spoke with PA again and found out the doc that fixes strictures is at a conference all day and could not see me till friday. I'm going to be in California on Friday. John the PA does not want to trust my pouch to anyone else so I am going to go in on Monday or Tuesday to get this fixed. Back to slowly sipping liquids till then. It is kind of a relief to know it was not me eating wrong. lol I was starting to think "how much slower can I eat?". Thanks for the support!

John the PA called me back, they had a cancellation for tomorrow. I was really relieved that I am going to get in before my trip.
