| What's Too Much? I've been reading alot of what people eat each day, and some say they get anywhere from 600-800 calories a day. I know I get more than that -- I'm closer to 1000 - 1100. At least I get in my protein though . Is this too much? If so, I have no idea what I can eat. This may be why I'm still on this stall. So far today, I've had about 620 calories, and haven't included dinner or my evening snack. Help pleeeeeese!!!!!!!!!!

No, that is not too much! Your body needs those calories or it will think it is starving! It depends how far out people are, so some may get fewer calories- the good thing is you really are focusing on getting in your protein- so important! Up your water and make sure what you are eating is not too high in fat, but the stall will go away soon!

My doctor told me to get at least 1000 cal a day. Some days i get more some or most days i get less. Each doctor seems to say something different.. Stall happen sometime no mater what you do... i am still in one going on 6 weeks. Oh well maybe it will move soon.

| It's really about where your calories are coming from. What is your calorie balance between proteins, carbs and fats? What is a typical daily food intake for you? At 5 months out, I would never be able to eat 1000 calories unless I added some calorie-dense foods, which I won't eat. By the end of a year, I expect to reach the 1000-1400 calorie mark. If you focus on protein first and get in 64 ounces of water or similar fluid, then work on vegetables, you should be okay. Of course, don't forget to talk with your nutritionist, who should be a wealth of information on this subject.
As was already said, stalls are normal. It's your body's way of catching up with itself and re-grouping. Even when your weight loss stalls, you are probably still losing inches as things shift and your clothes are probably fitting differently. Have patience and keep on your surgeon's and nutritionist's program.
Good luck!
Maggie

As Maggy said, just make sure your nutritional balance is good.
1000-1100 kcals ain't that bad, you know. How much did you consume before you decided to embark on this journey?
Your body will let loose when it's ready, no matter how much your mind wills it. This is one of the reasons why it is just so much a mind game.

| i still consume around 800-1000 calories a day and no more than 30 net carbs.
i haven't journaled in a while but i do know that continues to work for me and the longest stall i had was last month for 18 days. prior to that my stalls would only last around 8-9 days.
i also get up and do the treadmill each evening after dinner for around 30-40 minutes. i will do a fast clip walk - can't run because of bad knees.

You taking the right amount in honey. It will depend somwhat on what type of food your taking in. Could you be consuming frozen lunches already made at the grocery store? That is a thought. They are bad for you even though it says Lean Cusine and Weight Watchers. Look at them calories. Only 650 or less or more. I dont know about you but they dont taste good to me either. That taken in and the rate your body burns calories to. You know that old Metabolism thing? As we age its slows down. For 99 percent of us it does anyways. The young burn it off so fast.
Your eating the right amount of calories look at the type of food your eating. I best its premade frozen dinners? Yes they are fast easy but dont do a dam thing for the calories. Let me know if im wrong please?

Let me know if im wrong please? | MsVickie, believe it or not, I haven't had a frozen meal since months before surgery. I don't even like them anymore -- too much sodium and I've worked too hard to get my BP down. My average day has been: B--protein shake, S-tuna & 4 or 5 crackers or a piece of cheese; L-(ground) turkey burger, veggie; S--piece of cheese or protein bar (if I'm going to exercise), D--baked/grilled fish or turkey, veggie. Does that sound bad? I know the turkey and fish are high in protein, and so is the Whey protein shake. My cheese is 50-70 calories and 6 gr protein.

Honey you will have to excuse me. Those are culprits. I didnt notice how early out are. You have hit a stall. Your losing inches. Take a outfit top or bottom or both and put them on. In a week without weighing yourself try it on again and see you if you see a difference. Then a week later do the same. Your so early out and your body is due to stalls at times. You will have to be patient and just eat the way you are. There is no way you consuming what you used to. I was evidently consuming 6-7 thousand calories a day to weigh 365 pounds.
Be patient and good things will come and stay off the scale!
