Default Water Retention Issue

So now that its summer I seem to be retaining water in my feet and ankles terribly!! If I am wearing sandals or any shoe with the smallest heel, by the end of the day my feet and ankles are so swolen I can hardly flex my toes. If I wear tenis shoes it tends to supress the swelling at least in my feet but my ankles get puffy. Is there anything safe to take for this? I am watching my salt intake and using the Dash line of seasonings but it keeps swelling up!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

hmmm, not sure about taking but I would say push as much water as you can. That always helps me.

it really sounds like you are getting extra sodium from something that you are eating ~ you might want to check labels and definitely increase your water intake

I agree double check what you are eating even things like a bit of ketchup are loaded with salt. I also will retain water if I dont get in even more when its hot. Just keep drinking and if it gets really bad see your surgeon..

When you gotta pee go pee. That is the first thing I will tell ya. They do not like to precribe a diretuic in any form after you have this surgery. As the others said its summer and you drink more and you have to drink more. Im sure Doc will come along with some great advice soon.

Are you anywhere near your TOM/Aunt Flo? That will set you up for water retention. Your hormones are going wacky right now due to the rapid weight loss, so this may cause some problems too.
Bypass post ops get dehydrated easily, so consult your surgeon first with your problem and ask for advice.
If you have your feet down all day, then try to have them up as often as you can, and see if that helps some.
Hang in there, (((((HUGS))))))
