Okay, it's been 15 days since the start of my journey and I have one question....when will I get the energy back! I don't want to complain because I knew there would be some downtime and recovery but geesh, I need a red bull (JUST KIDDING). Everything else is okay, I have no desire for food, even the Red Lobser commercials don't make my mouth water and I LOVE seafood. I have lost a total of 18 pds since the surgery and I do feel good. I can't wait until October 13th, my birthday, I may treat myself to my first (inexpensive) post-op outfit. Too bad I can take a shot of tequila!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I think for most people the energy comes back after 4 weeks according to the posts I have read. My own experience was different. I was never tired from the beginning in fact I never took any naps. It will get better. Congrats on the 18lbs lost!

At 15 days out, do you feel like you could go back to work and be on your feet at all? I am trying to take only 2 weeks off next month when I have my surgery. I really hope you get your energy back soon.

energy takes a while to come back. Dont be surprised. My surgeon told me 6- 8 weeks and I do think it took the full 8 weeks. I was always amazed how tired I got even though on the outside I felt fine.

It will take time. As you can see it was different for everyone. I took me about 5 weeks but some people feel great just a couple weeks out. Time will tell. Just get in all the protein and water that you can. That helps a lot.

I'm like QueenoftheNile -- I'm 8 weeks out and never had any energy problems, I never took any naps. However, from other experiences I've read it's very normal to be tired for 4-6 weeks, it all depends on the person. Best Wishes in feeling back to normal soon.

It varies but your energy level should come back up soon. It has been almost 2 months for me and I have started riding a bike I just purchased. Congrats on your success so far.

I had my surgery August 18. My energy started coming back at about 3 weeks. Although my doctor said it would take 6-8 weeks, because it is major abdominal surgery. Good luck!!

Congrats on your weight loss!!! I am now 4 weeks out and at times very tired, I get bursts of energy here and there. But am very lucky because my work doesn't require me to be on my feet all day.

I never lost my energy. Went back to work at 10 days out. I was a little tired when I first got home but a 20 minute cat nap fixed that.
