Default Aciphex, prilosec, zantac?

I am about 2 and 1/2yrs post op. I remember right after my surgery that i was given aciphex to take. I had a history of GERD and Duodenitis prior to surgery but post-op, i never needed it.

Til Now that is... I have a constant burning and bloating feeling, its been about 2 to 3 weeks now. I can't even imagine at this point sitting down and eating a whole cup of food at one sitting, which i had been able to do in the past. I take bites of food here and there and that's it. Im not sure of the calorie intake but im sure it's under 1000 cals a day.

Do most people who have Gastric Bypass have to eventually stay on meds like Aciphex and Priolosec permanently? I took a half bottle of maalox in one day and it did nothing.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

did you ever go to the dr to get checked for the ulcer? i would imagine you only need to take those until *healed* and then eventually it is stopped. im not doc of course but thats been my experience with ulcer/nexium.

when i have a flair, i am put back on it, and then when all is quiet, i am taken off. i dont know if the other drugs have the same ingredients, but my dr explained to me this was NOT to be taken "forever"

please let us know how you make out.

I was told three months after surgery to stop the Prevacid. Yup, you may want to contact your surgeon.
