Default Very Slow Results

Hi All,

I'm new here. Is anyone having trouble loosing weight? I had gastric bypass on 08/15 and at my 3 month post op had only lost 24lbs. I have been exercising since October. I am now up to 45 minutes on the treadmill five days a week. The nutritionist said eat more protein and the Dr. said exercise. The Dr. also said that the first six months is my window of opportunity, after that the weight loss will slow. So, I'm desperate to show progress in the next three months.

Help please!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Lightbulb Hey there....

TOOSHORT~
Hi there, my name is Deborah....and I had GBS last April. Yes, I would agree with your Nutritionist and Doctor -
I know that PROTEIN was a huge part in my sucess early on...that was practically ALL I put in my mouth! If it didn't contain protein...I didn't eat it!

I just read something about protein on another post today that made sooo much since to me - protein stays with you longer...and thus, you eat LESS!

Right now in your process it's all about burning a TON MORE calories than you take in! So the exercise and the eating less calories go hand in hand...and will cause your body to go to your fat storage for energy!

I know early on, I used FITDAY to monitor how many calories I took in and burned a day! (I linked the above in case you are interested...)

Welcome to the board, tooshort, thank you for joining us.
As the others have said, be sure to get your protein in first, and also to get a lot of water in.
How much do your nut and dr say? The average mount suggested (though it does differ with the surgeons and nuts, so you must follow your own surgeon/nut's instructions) is 60-80g protein and 64oz liquids per day.
Also, be sure not to graze.
As well as the links listed above, check into the "Useful Links" thread where I have made a list and linked in various threads that may of use to you.

(((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

Good evening and your doing fine. Keep your focus and faith. Just make sure to listen to everyone's advice here b/c it's very good. With the exercises, try and get in some weight training at least twice a week. Cardio is fine but you can only build muscle with weight training. If you need any workout tips just send me an email. I'm proud of you and hang in there. Kyle (nationally certified personal trainer).
