|  Please help i am nervous
I am one week out from surgery. I have felt like crap the last 2 days. They started me on full liquids one day early(yesterday). I urinated this morning and blood came out. A fair amount too.. I was cathed 3 times in the hospital. but the last time was Sat. and have had no bleeding til now. Should I be worried?

You may have developed cystitis. Call your surgeon and see what s/he says. Also, were you given blood thinners? If so, you will bleed a tad easier than usual and it will take a tad longer to stop.
Anyhow, at your stage, keep your surgeon in the loop of what's going on.
Don't be afraid to get in fluids, though, it's important to stay hydrated, especially if you've got an UTI.

I have a message in to my surgeons nurse now. I also had several shots of Heprin(SP) while I was in the hospital. So I am not sure.

This is one thing I dont understand. Why they uncath you to begin with. Until your putting out what you putting in they shoudlnt uncath a man especially. I think CT said they had to cath him 2-3 times also. Yes call the Dr and let them know. Please update us on this.

Ok so they think I passed a kidney stone. Never had them before. But they ran some tests. If it happens again I have to go to the doctor.

Hmmm, usually if a guy passes a kidney stone, there is no doubt in his mind that he's done something!! I once saw a big (longer than the bed, build like a bull!) longshoreman-type guy carried in whimpering like a whipped puppy while passing one. If you passed one and didn't notice, you should be very, very thankful!!!!
