Default Arm/Hand pain After surgery

HI All,
I need help ...I had surgery Sat morning (Roux en Y) Came home yesterday. Mostly I feel really great but I'm having horrible pain in both arms from my elbows down to my fingers. I am wondeirng if I'm withrdrawing from the Morhpine OR if it's a side effect from the Vicodin I'm on now ...or if it's from the Heparin. It's a sharp pain in my muscles I think. Also, my arms are red and splotchy-ish.

Did anyone else have this happen? I just called my dr.'s office....I'm hoping he will call me back soon.

Thanks in advance for any possible info! )

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

It could be the result of having restraints on your arms when you were on the OR table to keep your body in position and prevent you from moving.

Thanks Doc. I didn't think of that....I didn't even know they put restraints on ...but it makes sense. I just heard from the dr....he said it may be an allergic reaction to they Hydrocodone so I'm just on tylenol now. Hopefully the pain will go away.

Welcome to the bench! Glad to hear things went smoothly and you are home. Its a bit nerve racking to feel things you haven't felt before and I am glad you rang up the Doctor. Hope you hear from them soon. Doc's suggestion sounds very possible to me. Might also be some residual gasses causing some pain but mine were in the shoulder and back. Walking really helped me. I was still taking liquid morphine a few days out too. Stay hydrated and comfortable.

Sounds to me like you had a IV infiltrate, that happened to me and my arm was sore for about 2 full weeks after surgery, was swollen for the first 3-4 days after it had infiltrated as well
