Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

The main reason for the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver to make the surgery easier for the surgeon and safer for you. It's tough but try to stay with it. You will be better off. Good luck.

Galvan - I knew and felt your pain!!! It was pure torture on that liquid diet - I was constantly hungry (or thought I was) and all I wanted to do was chew. I can't believe I'm saying this b/c this is NOT the kind of person I thought I was (self help and such) but this forum is what got me through those 2 weeks. Whenever I wanted to eat, I would come on here and vent - as you have done, and I would feel better. I will be honest, my mom cheated while we were out to eat one night for my nephew's birthday. She cheated with broccoli - no joke, she just ate broccoli and she was thrilled. Your worst case scenario if you cheat - they postpone your surgery. You can do it - find the inner strength in yourself! GOOD LUCK!

OK. Tough love...

You need to stick with the program. If you can't stick with it now how on earth do you think you can stick with it after WLS?

With a tiny little pouch do you really think you will be able to cheat without consequences? Cheating will either cause, dumping, foamies, or weight gain.

Drink all you want but stay away from temptations. What to do instead of eating? Walk, exercise, visit a friend, go shopping & look at all the clothes you'll fit into a year from now, or perhaps volunteer to help someone in need. JUST STAY AWAY FROM TEMPTATIONS.

Do not cheat. I know how really damn hard this is and right now you are in the midst of probably the toughest part of the journey. But you are on a pre-op diet for a reason. If your liver has not shrunk down enough, your surgeon will not be able to do their work. Your pre-op diet is critical to the success of your surgery.

You are going to want to stop watching tv because all you are going to see are food commercials. I ended up watching DVD's almost exclusively during this time because I couldn't handle it.

Just hang in there. You are stronger then your urge and you can get through it

Thank you all

It means alot that you are rallying around me during this. Its been so hard (as im sure it was for you all)

Its especially difficult because Im in a house with 5 other people and I get a "special meal" when they have pizza or stakes or anything.

Thank you

Ya that is the one thing that I did not have to contend with because I live alone.

Stay strong and think about all of the wonderful things to come! You'll be so proud of yourself for getting through this
