Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Ok, so here it is. I had RNY last Tuesday. Why do I have to sleep on my back? I am so not comfortable that way. Would it really hurt me if I slept on my side? Did anyone else have strict instructions to sleep on their back? And how many liquids can one person drink without throwing up???? I am so over this liquid faze. I can do no more Jello, broth! I am done! Would it be OK to cheat? I mean I am supposed to start full liquids tomorrow would it really make that much of a difference? Thanks for you help, Jolie

| Super Moderator | Even if you feel uncomfortable, keep strictly to your surgeon's instructions. You are still healing inside, and it generally takes a week to ten days for your incisions and anastmoses to heal, and you wouldn't want to jar anything. After all, if you have a cut on your hand, will you rub salt into it while the scar is raw? This is still time for your to heal, so step up your diet only as you have been instructed, give your pouch time to get used to the new situation, if you want to avoid extra complications. You may be feeling impatient to go on to the next step, but always remember, patience pays, impatience does not. May your journey go well.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I would adhere to what ur surgeon said. I wasnt told to only sleep on my back but i will say due to uncomfortableness i guess i just did. ONCE i wasnt as tender i was on my side sleeping as normal. I would say but again not telling you what to do. BUT i move up most of my rungs about 24/ 48 hours earlier then i was supposed to being i was hungry and needy. FOR me the next phase was adding in the milk products. KEEP up the great work! IT gets easier. AND your tummy is healing so you must be gentle and easy on it reintroducing the foods. ((HUG))) keep us posted on your journey we love hearing! LISA

Height: | I know that this is really hard for you right now Jolie and that you will have to be one of the ones to keep me sane and on track, but I think that Doc and Lisa have given you great advice. Also remember that the harder you work for something, the more you will appreciate it in the long run. ((((Big Hug)))) Janae |
