| Why am I gaining?
Well I have had an interesting week!! First I had my four week check up and all went well....I can now eat fish!! She said it was alright for me to go see my little grandson (5 hrs. away)!
The trip was going well for the first 2 hrs. we stoped alot and I walked. Didn't last at about the 2 1/2 hr point I became very uncomfortable so I wanted to lay down so we stoped. I decided to go in with hubby for him to get something to eat ( I had my own food with me). This was a bad thing to do with me being light headed....I triped and fell hard on my face on the sidewalk. I was lucky I only broke my nose (as well as alot of bruises and scrapes).....it is now healing well. We did arrive to see my little guy but 5 hrs. late. The weekend was just me resting. Vinayak was so happy to see me.....he was running around saying 'Nammas back' and he gave me a big hug, then we sat on the couch and he patted my tummy. Then he looked up and back away and said 'ew'.....I got another hug after that!!!
Came home we stoped often and I did okay!! On Tuesday went to my PC to be checked out. He took me of high bloodpressure meds, put me on poiassium and I was dehydraded....so had to have IV, 2 bags. I have learned that dehdration can happen very fast!
I am feeling better drinking alot now! Also I am enjoying eating tuna fish and egg salad (with homemade mayo mixed with yogert), this is the only new foods that I am eating. The problem is I have GAINED 6 LBS in the last 6 days!!!! That is a pound a day!!! I am worried about this and just can't understand!!!
Hugs,
Lexie

Two things come to mind on this one...One IVs will make you gain weight , heck i gained 20 lbs from them after surgery ! Other one is traveling can make you retain water possibly , it does me...but i am banking on its your IVs..hang in there it will drop in a week or so and probbly more will drop with it

Summer is right. It's water retention. Don't worry too much about it, it'll go away

Yep they are right. Drips will make you gain for sure and I always have a lot of fluid after traveling. Another thing some bp meds have something in them for fluid. After your body adjust to not taking them and you lose the fluid from the drips you will see a loss again. Sometimes it takes awhile for your body to get rid of this fluid. Hang in there it will happen. Sorry about your fall. I hope this never happens to you again. Things will get better I am sure. You are doing great with your weight loss. Keep up the good work. It is all worth it.

after I left the hospital I had gained weight from the iv fluid. Don't worry you will be surprised in a few dates as the water weight disperses.

It's water weight. You were dehydrated, but immediately afte IV, the water still hasn't distributed as it should be. Once it's where it should be, your weight will settle, don't worry. You'll probably lose a few lbs from your starting point, too.

Ouch, the fall sounds like a nasty one. I know from experience that the light head was from dehydration. I can recognize it now before it gets too bad. I also noticed for me, the more water I intake the faster the weight loss. Even though every pint = one pound, consistent water intake is getting me very good results. I just try to remember not to drink too much towards the end of the day so I get a good nights sleep

So sorry you fell, I hope your doing better now.
I with you Thor, I have seen better results if I get plenty of water in, also all of my protein seems to have helped.
I my soon be a member of the Century Club...
