Default Summer dilemma

So, I am coming up on five months out, YAY... I feel great, I think I am progressing great.

So here is my dilemma. Summer clothes! I do not know what size to buy. I have limited my spending to very little, (although I eagerly await the day when I can go crazy) a pair of jeans for the weekends, two pairs of pants for work and interchangable shirts for both. Nothing from before fits me at all, another YAY! But summer is coming and we all know once it is here you can't actually buy clothes, so I am torn. I plan to get a few sweat type of shorts so that I can adjust them a bit. (but I feel like that is all I wore before of course with differant reason), but I can certainly deal with that in this situation, but a bathing suit??

Anyone care to share ways they progressed without costing a small fortune??

Thanks

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I buy everything from Goodwill or resale shops for just that reason.
When i go i get different sizes, what I'm in and the next size down at least.

Well I am not the best oen to ask but many do go to goodwill places...I try to watch sales and use coupon offers myself..and also do as u do make mix and match outfits ,luckily I amthnking kmart, walmart , target etc will have good value items for alot less money than the mall will have...not goin go buy my shorts at Macys girls ....also a tank top is cheap at those places and who knows if it came from Macys or Walmart , its a tank top for gosh sakes... I love summer dresses , there is where my dilemma lays , do i buy just a couple or hold out this year...I have several summer bell dresses that I am sure will drop all the way off the shoulders now and prbbly all the way to the floor lol...sigh...I guess we just get thru this yr and next yr will be much easier for us jewel..one thing I am doing is accesorizing with alot of jewelry to get dif looks , jewelry dosent change in sizes but adds alot of class...good luck , let me know what you find , I am waiting for the big sales at the mall for weekend Mothers day buys right now

Another good option is Old Navy.

I have found that when I look at Goodwill or consignment stores around here, either I can't find anything I like, or it is overpriced for used clothing. I shop stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or Ross where you can find name brand clothing at MUCH cheaper prices. I wanted a bathing suit for the summer, but I will only use it a few times and next summer it wouldn't fit so I searched and found one at TJ Maxx that was orig $85 but their price was $15. Also if people have Yard Sales in your area that may be an option. I have found nice clothes that still had the tags on it at some yard sales. I have been shopping a lot lately because I am going on a week long trip in June and I need enough clothes for 7 or 8 days because I won't have time for doing laundry, but I have to keep reminding myself that I won't wear any of these things next summer so that I don't buy TOO much for my summer wardrobe.

Goodwill is still my favorite store. You have to search a lot, but sometimes you hit the jackpot and someone's dropped off namebrand stuff that's like new. Target or Walmart for a bathing suit. You could cut off sweat pants to capri lenght.

I may not be the best person to offer advice on this subject since not only do i LOVE to shop but I have expensive taste to boot. To deal with this problem, I shop at Kohls & Target. It's inexpensive (at least in comparison to Nordstrom where I do my usual shopping) and I don't feel guilty when things don't fit anymore. Plus, I only bought one pair of shorts for summer and I live in dresses & skirts during the summer which have a lot more flexible in terms of how long you can wear them when they get big unlike pants. GOOD LUCK!

The girls gave some wonderful suggestions to you for finding things as you changes sizes!!

Here is another one to think about....gets things that fit NOW...don't do the whole waiting 'until' thing...thats' crazy! Get some things that fit now, get a few items in the next size down too ...Goodwill all those places have tons of name brand items..plus clothes do wash and you can get things dry cleaned too.

Plus buy some GOOD FITTING bras...it makes everything look SO much better too! Invest in undergarments...that's the key! :-)

Target and Old Navy are the best. I bought a full wardrobe of all name brand stuff when I got to a size 8 thinking that was it!! I spent a fortune on designer jeans the works. Now I am a size 4-6 and shopping at old navy and target because my 8's are falling off. I find some super good buys and sales!
