| A New Pain--- where is it coming from?
Hello everyone,
As you know I just had my surgery last Tuesday, and so far, I haven't had any unusual pain that I didn't expect until this morning. I woke up to go potty, and there is a stabbing pain in the bottom of my stomach, right on my bikini line! My husband gave me a good dose of pain meds, and it went away, but what if it returns when the medicine wears off? it feels like it is not really close to the skin, but more of in the middle, maybe my bladder? I have no idea, anyone had this? Any suggestions would be great! I have an apt with my doc tomorrow, so I will talk to them, but any info right now would be great!
Thanks in advance!

OF course as early out from surgery as you are, i would say talk to your surgeon. THATS what they are there for....
I am no expert but we all tend to get some bad gas about were you are that
cant make its way out and normally i suggest nad used chewable GAS x myself...
once i started tooting it helped.
IT might be this and it may not i never had gas like this till surgery.
OKAY after reading another post ...now you have me some what concerned....did this pain begin after you had the viactiv chews? I personally think you might be to soon for that kind of CHEW, please make sure you can take them. FOR the first 3 months i was only allowed tums
for calcium...those chocolate viactiv chew things can block your stoma that early out!

Lisa,
Thank God I only ate one of them last night, and I havent taken any since. I won't take them any more. Just stick to the chewable centrums that I bought. It did take me about 30 minutes to chew it up, because I didn't want to get anything stuck.. i took tiny tiny bites, and chewed until there was nothing left. But thanks for the info.
As far as the pain, it hurts soooooo bad when I pee, so I talked to my best friend who is a nurse, and had the surgery, and I think I might have an infection from the cathiter.
Thank you so much for all your good info, and you don't know how much I and everyone in this forum appreciates you and all your knowledge. You are the BEST!!!

Well, from the symptoms posted, it seems most likey cystitis--bladder infection. Not to put you off, but does your pee look a little darker than usual? That could be due to blood in it. At any rate, since you'll be seeing your surgeon, talk to him.
(((((HUGS))))) I hope you are feeling better this morning.

i had to go to the ER tonight, my incision that i have to pack twice a day started leaking really stinky brown stuff, and hurting really really BAD!! It is infected, they gave me a bag of anti-biotics through iv, and a good dose of pain killers. as for the other pain, they gave me a ua, and it came back negative, so I have to see my surgeon tomorrow, i will keep you updated. thanks for the info!

HI PHYLLIS!!
(((HUG))))
sorry your wound is leaking stinky!!!! BUT glad you went to the
ER, always good to be checked out right away so early out
in the surgery.
HANG in there.
GLAD you got the UA test too.
VERY tricky ...even as other members
what about kidney stones were you checked
for those at ER too? i know there is a member
who got those very early out POST op to.
ITS so hard being you added the pain when
you pee.....im not thinking all gas!
ITS so tricky and got to have the medical
experts involved.
CHECK with your surgeon if he allows those
viactivs so early out, some do i know mine didnt.
I do know a warm drink if one got stuck will melt
it thru!
GOOD LUCK and keep us posted!
