Default Why are my feet so numb?

I had my RNY open gastric bypass surgery 2 years ago. Open Hernia repair 4 weeks ago and complications and emergency surgery a week after the hernia repair. (Twisted intestines that had to be removed) Now I'm feeling much better but my feet are numb 80% of the day. I thought maybe at first that It was from not moving around alot etc, but now I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong? Any ideas?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I have these issues.
I have been over it with my surgeon!!!
I been to a neorologist....
and for now im diagnosed as it being neropathy
and it wasnt from any deficiencies...i have no
tolerance of outsdie or my feet go badly numb
i have had this myself with no luck of anything.
SURE i had tests that were fine from the nerologist
but i havent been able to get back there for treatment
i guess.
SO for me its unexplained yet very annoying.
I was also told by my surgeon to increase my multi vitamins,
take a b comlex and put on nascobal b12 and still have this
issue and in winter time its annoying me now that it got
cold on LONG ISLAND. Last cold spell my toes were so numb
it hurt.
SO i am going thru the same issue AMY!
hugs

awww Ya even going outside to the car my feet get really cold and numb and hurt. I even wore hubbys thermal socks and still freezing lol. How about your hands? Any problems with them? Its hard for me to tell because i have / had carpal tunnel and had the surgery but sometimes my hands do still get numb.

I wake up everymorning with numb hands.
ITs a problem that i have let fall thru the cracks
cause i cant get to nerologist again.
BUt went once and he was amazed that i had
no feeling in my feet.

Hmmm.
Anything with your spine?
Do you have degenerative bone disease or displaced disks?
Numbness of your hands and feet can actually be the resulf of bad back.
The nerves going to the hands and feet being compressed where they come out through the spine from the spinal chord causes numbness and pain.
Having carried a lot of weight for many years can cause and aggravate back trouble, and even if your back pain went away after losing weight, the nerve issues often still are not resolved.
Talk to your surgeon, but getting a consult with a neurologist and an orthopedic surgeon are also viable choices.
((((((HUGS))))))

Thanks for the info that actually makes a lot of sense. I actually have had back pain for a while and it got worse after my hernia repair surgery.

As Doc said that is what my issues were with that. Before surgery hands and feet were numb all the time. I have the beginings of degenerative disc disease in my lower spine. The weight before surgery just aggrivated it . Since surgery once in a while i feel a little but NOTHING like before. Best to have you docs give you a look over and run some tests to be sure. Best of luck and keep us posted.
