Default About lab work

I was sent a list of lab work to get, with my packet. Are they suppose to be fasting or non-fasting? Does it matter?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI RETHY!
first off welcome to the boards and i look forward to getting to know you thru your posts.

As far as fasting i usually check with the lab, i always have had to fast for any blood tests for most things no food or drink after midnight...and i usually do labs when the labs for drawing the specimen opens.
REALLY depends on the tests sometimes. In the past i ring the lab
and have them advise me correctly.

GOOD LUCK!
and it might matter depends on what is being looked at ...im not sure if this is pre op labs, post op labs or what .

HI there..

Fasting depends on the labwork that is ordered. Fasting is required for Lipid Panel which include, cholesterol, blood sugar{glucose}cholesterol, tryglycerides and HDL. If not sure just give the lab a call or your doc who ordered the tests and they should be able to tell you.

Good luck

LisaMarie said all.
The labs that will be most affected by not fasting is blood sugar and triglyceride. Cholesterol level less than the two, but it still will rise.
