Default My Problem

Hi! I'm new here, just found you all today. I've been researching lap band and gastric bypass and have a question.
I had a pituitary tumor and I lack the hormone vasopressin which controls fluid balance. I stay excessively thirsty. Because of the large amount of fluids I drink would this be a problem with either of these procedures?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI AUNT BET!!!
Welcome to the forums i am so glad you found a place to come and talk to people who have had or will be having the gastric bypass procedure.
UNFORTUNATELY i would think the best person to anwser this question is a qualified bariatric surgeon.
I mean we are required to sip sip sip all day long and early post op months
we cant gulp....but i know i can drink faster now then last year and im 21 months out now.
IM sure others can and will answer too but this one really sounds like it needs the consideration of a surgeon!!!
hugs
and i look forward to getting to know you thru you posts!

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Hope you feel at home here.

As for your Q, ask both the surgeon you choose, and your neurologist/neurosurgeon. (I take it you are being followed by someone about this.) Also, sleeve gastroplasty is coming into the picture as a choice, but there still aren't many surgeons doing this procedure, so you might want to do more research on the types of surgery available, and choose a center that does a variety of procedures so you can get the procedure best fit for you, and your issue.
