| really silly questions
OK, the initial problems I was having in the afternoons with nausea had dissipated. I am having the worst craving for eggs now! So I eat a HB egg for brekky and it really fills me up. I bring one to work with me and have that for my lunch, and now here comes the nausea. What the heck? I have basically quit doing protein shakes 'cause I can't stand the sweetness of them, even though the Protein powder only has 3 carbs. I am beginning to think I have been "blessed" with a fussy pouch. I can eat fruits and veggies all day long without problems(not that I do )
another question, I seem to have no problem with eating shrimp. How much shrimp per week is too much?
Thanks for readings my ramblings!

I know pouches are funny.
AND one day things are fine..or even one meal
there fine next there not.
ALL the things we go thru...
i know later out all this leaves and you will
be wishing for all this fussiness back!!!!
PROTEINS the food were supposed to eat mostly
is the hardest to get down for us. AND its easy
to reach for the other foods cause they sit
easier...but in the long run they wont keep us
full long enough and dont have the nutritional
value we need from the protein as a bariatric
patient.
I know for me food has to be fresh or it refunds
and makes me ill. ANYTHING pre made in advance
gets me. I have read that this is something to do with the
way the pre made food begins to breakdown out stomach
lacks that part to break it down.
I dont know i never heard shrimp to be bad i eat it post op.....
but i guess like anything we need variety!
HUGS
AS for your recurring nasaus? do u take a prolosec OTC product of some sort or tums???? maybe your needy of that???????
maybe the stomach is churning with nothing in there making u feel
so icky!
HATE to say all that icky i always had turned out to be my ulcer.
SO shouldnt ignore it ....
hang in there

How much shrimp is too much? When you get sick and tired of it, that's when.
Hang in there, hope you'll feel better soon. ((((((HUGS))))))

Man, I don't think we can eat enough of ANYTHING for it to be too much, except maybe carbs, of course.
I've been eating a lot of shrimp. Deborah gave a great recipe for shrimp salad that has become a staple for me. It's really about the only seafood I can eat, I don't really like the taste of fish, unless it's breaded and deep fried, of course, and then it is no longer "healthy".
I eat a lot of peanut butter, as well, and cheese, cheese, cheese!
I get the "gurglies" after just about everything I eat for awhile, but I must say, it is not as bad as it used to be. Milk seems to help calm my pouch.
I do a lot better if I eat at home, instead of restaurant foods.
Yesterday I went to GNC in the continuing saga of trying to find a protein supplement that I can stand to drink...I bought a few more. I'll let ya know how it goes.

Michele---if too much shrimp were a bad thing I'd be in serious trouble---I keep it in the fridge 24-7....
as for the unjury powders----I liked the unflavored kind----then I could add it to anything I wanted to increase my protein intake---that's not a problem at this point---I get in more than 100gm everyday from real food

mmmmm....I love shrimp too but that is one of the few things that can give me probelms. I chop it up real good, add lemon, cocktail sauce, lf crem cheese.

Wow I could have written this thread, I too have been blessed with a fussy pouch (sometimes I feel like I am cursed with it) ! I am 4 years out and it is still fussy! In the beginning, I ate shrimp and crab almost everyday, because it was the one food that went down and stayed down, and it is a great source of protein. I cannot stand the protein drinks, they were always too sweet for me, plus my surgeon did not like them, he wanted me to get my protein from food.
It took me 6 months before I could eat chicken and keep it down, it did not matter how it was cooked and it did not matter how much I chewed it would always come back up . So I ate crab and shrimp for breakfast sometimes!
