Unhappy pain in left side

Good evening everyone! I have a question. I am about 22 days post op and I keep having this sharp pain in my left side where the drain incision is. I find it difficult and painful to bend over , drive or sit upright for long periods of time (like 30 minutes or more) I called the doc and I was told that this was normal some people experience it , some do not. Has anyone else had this happen to them? If so , how long can I expect to have this? If it wasn't for this pain , I think I would be back to work already!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

(((HUG)))
i know one side tended to hurt more then the other...
always sort of said it felt like a bus hit me.
I think as long as you keep your surgeon updated
and he shows know concern i wouldnt stress it.
THERE is still at 22 days out alot of healing going on
interenally! AND yes every pain makes us nervous
something is going wrong...i can recall being
almost 3 months out and laid on a surf board
on my tummy in the water and still had pain...

I am sorry to learn its keeping you from work.....
hopefully it will ease soon we all tolerate and
experience different pains post op.
hugs

Hi: I too have experienced this pain - especially if I get overtired or walk any distance. I discussed this with Dr. Kam in Ypsilanti (my surgeon) he said it is muscle and not to be concerned. Everyone is different I know so don't take my word for it - I don't get it all the time. I just wish I could get my full energy back and stop the anxiety attacks - I'm now on paxil so perhaps that will help. Garda from Canada.

Red face pain in left side

I am due to go back to work 3-26-07. I am hoping this pain will subside. I sit at a desk all day which you would think would allow most people to go back to work sooner. However when you can't sit upright for more than 30 min at a time, that presents a problem. Do you think they would allow me to bring my recliner to work? LOL! I will have to contact my surgeron back as to what to do. Thanks everyone!
