Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI terry........
i see you have posted this question in a few places
and i have strongly advised if your surgeon requires you
to be smoke free you should do so. I have heard peoples
surgery dates be cancelled because of pre op testing
that determined someone was still smokeing.

ITs for your own safty. I know my surgeon requires
patients to quit 3 months prior to surgery to get there
breathing and airways in better shape to undergo such
a major surgery safely.
I was a smoker for alot of years.
I quit though 8 years prior to the surgery.
I have also heard that smoeking post op
could lead to ulcers......
HUGS! i know its not an easy task....
i think there are many good products
out there today that might help!
GOOD LUCK

Hi Terry,

Sorry for the sermon but; you should not be smoking anyway. If there was ever a good reason, the time is now. You are soon going to go through a very life changing surgery and hopefully you will become a healthier person; why would you want to continue to do damage to your body with cigarettes? Soon you will be eating healthier and exercising and frankly, smoking just does not fit in.

During recovery you are going to want your lungs in the best shape possible. Please try to give them up. My husband was a heavy smoker and he tried many times and finally suceeded with the patch.

Good luck.

Terry, welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your date.

A lot of surgeons require that you quit smoking because smoking decreases your lung's capacity for breathing, restricting your breathing, and increasing the danger from anesthesia.
If quitting cold turkey is difficult, discuss with your dr the use of nicotine patches.

((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.
