I have a question.........today I am 2 weeks post-op from the 1st surgery and then had the 2nd surgery for the obstruction 1 1/2 weeks ago. Today all day long I have been VERY nauseated. I have drank some water today but can not eat anything. Is this normal every now and then?

Terrijo, It's very important to get your fluids and keep trying to get your protein in. I know that you may be sick of hearing this, but it's true. I would call my surgeon if the nausea persists. Hang in there, it does get easier!

As Tammy says, since you are pretty early out from two major surgeries, the first thing to do, whatever happens, is call your surgeon. I know you may feel bad about having to raise a ruckus about what may turn out to be nothing, but, it's better to be safe than sorry. ((((((HUGS)))))) I hope you'll be feeling better soon.

(((HUG))) keep the surgeon informed as others had said. SOMETIMES they precribe meds to help people with bad nasuas. GOT to do the best you can to eat and drink as your surgeon wants you too.....dehydration will cause nausaus. NOT eating anything you do have to tell the surgeon if your supposed to be getting in stuff. GOOD LUCK keep us posted. ((((FEEL BETTER HUGS)))) also there are nasty stomach viruses going around????? could it be that evil sneaking up on you???? I hope not but you never know! hugs

I've been able to drink and this morning the nausea was better for a bit but then it came back very quickly and I almost heaved, in fact I did, but nothing came up. I feel a lot better now and it seems that certain smells might be causing it, but I am going to call the doctor today anyway. Thank you everyone!
