So, I finally broke down after about a month of pain in my right upper quadrant, and saw my PCP. They did blood work, and an ultrasound of my gallbladder. I went in today for the results. My blood work looked okay. My gallbladder looked good. What they did find though that I had a dilated pancreatic duct. Now, I got a referral to see the GI specialist on February 14. DocSanae could you shed any light on this??

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.
Dilated duct means there is some kind of blockage at the starting point of where the duct widens. Think of a dam blocking the river. You get a lake behind the dam.
It may be cause by a stone that didn't turn up in the US, or there may be a torsion of the area where the opening of the duct is, among other things.
Or, some people are born with a dilated duct.
