Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I think a month or two would be average. You will need to be on at least soft food stage (not pureed), considering that the pills will have to melt in your pouch, but probably best when you are back to solid food.
If you are tired of crushing them, aren't there any alternatives in liquid forms or as chewables? Even if not everything, if you can swich to liquid or chewable vitamins, at least, you'll have less to crush.

I am still pre-op but my physician has said 6 months is what she usually asks that a patient wait. She has coordinated with my primary physician meds that can be in capsule form that is safe for opening and chewables.

My vit supplements are chewables, but my antidepressents need to be crushed. Thanks!!! I'm going to err on the side of caution as I think that's always the best course of action.

Well i wasnt on medication once i came off the pain meds from the intial surgery...and only used centrum chewable for my vitamin. MY surgeon says 3 months then no pills bigger then and MM candy.

GOOD LUCK, i know how much i hated the crushed pain pills and weaned myself fast due to that taste that made me gag

Default Weird!

My surgeon never gave me a time. Honest! I never crushed any of my meds. From the time I left the hospital, he gave me the prescription for my gallbladder pills, and I never gave it a second thought. Well, when I saw what the pills looked like, I was flabbergasted. They were huge, like a centrum. I called him immediately. His nurse laughed, and said I was the first person to question it. He advised me, that if I didn't want to swallow the pill, to open the capsule up, and take it with my food that way. I don't know what I was thinking, but I decided just to try and take the capsule. I did it, and it went down. I have been doing that since then. I don't know though, if I would reccomend that for everyone, now reading all these posts. lol Good Luck!!!
