Default Heap of veggies!

Being this far out from surgery....almost 9 months, I would have thought every question for me, would have been asked. lol I consider this to be a real silly one, but I am just curious. I know I am not stretching my pouch, cuz I still only eat until I full, but in the last month, my eating has really picked up. I was scared at first, but then was told that the pouch does stretch a bit. I was told by my dietician that it is about the size of an orange right now. Meat with me, still is limited, but when I have like a stir fry with lots of veggies, I can eat a good size portion. Is this normal? I really do mean a good size portion. I guess I just need to be reassured about the process of eating a little more this far from my surgery date. I always did eat my veggies after surgery, but I now eat a tremendous amount because I am afraid to eat anything else. I do get my daily required amount of protein in a day, and everything else needed. Don't get me wrong. It is just that every meal I eat alot of veggies to go with the meal, because I think I am eating too much. Guess I would just like to hear that the amount is normal for me. Can't wait to hear back from the veterans especially.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hey Mike, I'm going through the same thing right now but with me its fruit. With meals I can eat very little but within a hour or two I'm wanting fruit. So I'm eating small meals but eating every few hours which I know is not good either. Hopefully someone can answer your question so we can both either be introuble or doing OK. Its scary when your appetite starts to increase and you don't know what is normal anymore!!!

YES your at the stage were i first saw that i could eat more and more and get scared. STILL do.
WHAT i tell myself is yes im eating more then my first months
post op but im still by no means eating what i did pre op.
ITS normal.
I do find depending on the nature of the food who much i can eat.
PROTEINS filling me up the most on least to foods that mush up in the
mouth filling me the least fastest. I fill very fast on bulky fruits like
watermelon and berries. .....and i fill up fast on airy no sugar added
cool whip. SO it really depends on what your eating.
RELAX and enjoy if we ate like we did the first months forever
we would become very malnorished.
I know for me early out i could only eat the topping of a pizza slice.
THEN i was able to eat half slice.
THEN graduated to a full slice at times...
but you know what...pre op i put away 3 slices and my
kids crusts.....and was still looking for more.
SO i know yes i eat more now then the first months
but still no comparison to pre op eating capasity!
hope my input helps and im sure many will
express there experience.
hugs

Default Somewhat related...

This article was interesting....We digest things differently, some are easier due to our anatomy then others. This may help understand a little bit about our digestion and why certain things are just easier to pile in then others. Hope it helps a little.

How humans are not physically created to eat meat

Default Thanks!

You girls are AWESOME! What can I say, besides you have eased my gitters completely. I just had to ask the question for relief. You are so very right. It seemed to happen overnight. Not really, but that is how it seemed. As I have said, I don't fear that I have stretched my pouch, it is just the amount, especially veggies I can pack away. Cherry tomatoes, which I love, not as many. I do look at it this way though...I could be packing away alot more Dorritos, and pasta, as in the old days. Instead, it is veggies. For the record, I am for sure getting my 4-6 servings of veggies per day. lol lol lol The cool whip thing, Lisa, is very very true. I noticed that with myself. I thought, at first, what in the heck is going on? It is light and airy. Why does it feel that way when it hits the belly? I don't do that often, but I have experienced the same thing as you with it. The pizza thing to. Before, it was nothing for me to eat half of a Pizza Hut pizza. Now, at Little Ceasers....the two times I went there....I could eat a slice of it, and be full. I can see the difference from almost 9 months ago, but as you said, I think the fear will always be there. I guess that is not a bad thing though. Kinda keeps you aware of things that could happen if you are not careful.
The fruit thing as well is true to. I had with my breakfast this morning, about a third to half cup of rasberries. Now, talk bulk. lol They fill me the rest of the way up almost instantly. With a little splenda, they hit the spot with battling the sweet tooth in the morning. Also, which you know, high in fiber. Thanks again you two. It helped a great deal.
Bren, I have been eased. How about you? lol
p.s. LisaMarie, Thanks for that article. VERY VERY INTERESTING, AND HELPFUL.
