Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Default Mornin armywife!

I know that you said you are going to post again this morning, but I have to reply. I am assuming your asking why you have to answer the question what has and has not worked in the past??????? If not, I am sorry, and will post a reply again when you get on here today. I never yet, could figure that one out. Actually, it was being paranoid that if I told them what worked in the past, they would say we are going to postpone your surgery, and try it again. That was a big fear of mine. I wanted to tell the insurance company, yah, it might have worked for short term, but in the long run, the weight came right back on. Either I didn't acquire the necessary rules to follow to hold on to the little weightloss I did have, or I just figured I was going to be obese for the rest of my life. I was as honest as I could be with the paperwork, and I guess that it was enough. I await your post this morning, if I am waaaaaaaaaay off base here, with what you are curious about.

I agree with Mike. Your scared to tell them what might have worked in the past. I mean Gessh!!!!!!! Starvation? Nothing? I really didnt tell them what worked. Just wrote out... what diet how much I lost and what happened. Like..... couldnt understand the diet.... or lost 35 lbs but when stopped the weight come back on fast plus more. Making you sick etc.???? I dont know ... I will have to see the post. Send it to me email if you wish I hope? I can help? Then again someone who has it done might can help more? Its a stupid question of them to ask really. I mean dam if we thought we could do this alone...... We would have already done it. That is my feeling anyways.

Default Very True!

I couldn't agree more with your post MsVickie. What a stupid question to ask. What has worked for you in the past? Good Lord, if something worked in the past, a person obviously would be considering have the surgery. Duh! Why, on earth, is that question even in there? As I have said, I answered the questions as honestly as I could without jeporadizing my chances of getting the surgery approved. I did try in the past to lose the weight, but only to have it creep back on me, and a little more. It gets a little frustrating after a while, but as my surgeon told me. Most people, like me, cannot diet. Especially, if you are a stress eater as I was, and can still be at times. It is not a good thing, but I have learned, for the most part, how to deal with it, when I get the urge due to stress. The paper would be nice to see, as MsVickie has said. Good Luck with everything.

Default here it is sory it took me so long

Hello everyone I am sorry i did not get this up yesterday my day was crazy long story and i am going to have to type this out because i cant get it to work so here it is

what has or has not worked in the past

Weight watchers- This Diet failed for me do to the fact that it seemed i was consuming to much food and actually gaining weght instead of loosen. Do to my work schedule i was hard for me to make any of the meetings.

Richard simons deal a meal and exercise vidios- I did have some wight loss with this diet plan around 30pounds the exercise vidios became very repetive and boring and some of the exercises are hard to follow and do properly without causing injury.

TOPS- I lost 35 to 40 pounds well going to TOPS I thought it was going to be more less a support group like setting and it was not. It was a social session for the locals I was very uncomfertable at the meetings.

Pills(Trim spa,Xendadrine,Stacker2)-All of these pills i did have some weight loss (50 pounds well using trim spa) But the weight came back on when stopped faster then it did when it was coming off. All of these pills work the same. These pills made me very Jittery, Shaky and rased my heart rate. Not good with Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) I also had some difficulty sleeping when using these pills

Kellogg Cereal diet- This diet made me sick To much cerial cause stomach pain.

Cabbage Soup Diet- Did not work caused much soft stool and diet made me sick

Slim fast- maked me sick

Ok take a look and tell me if i should change anything thank you so much for your help

One thing you could check is CraigT's Weightloss Surgery Insurance Book.

I know many people wonder why insurance companies ask for past efforts in losing weight, and are afraid that if they say something worked for a while, that these companies will nix your surgery. Actually, the documentation is to prove that even if something worked for a while, the solution was never permanent, and you all have done just about everything in the books, but are having a hard time, have exhausted every nook and cranny, and desparately need the surgery now. If the insurance companies think that you haven't exhausted every other option, that's when they say no, try the conventional way first.
Remember, you need to talk in the insurance companies' language, not the regular, daily language.

ok here is my revised version this hole thing is makeing me

What has or has not worked in the past

Kellogg cerial Diet-
Starting the first of febuary 2007 because i exhaused all of my other options and nthing has worked i gave ita a try I soon learned that this type of diet was unrealistic for the amount of weight that i have to lose. I did this diet for two weeks for a 10 pound weight loss. along wigh this diet I tried to do a dance exercise video bit it prover to be very hard for me to do at my weight causing me to get depressed and down on myself and i reverted back to my old habits.

Weight watchers-November2006 weight watcher for a 20pound weight loss I tried to follow this plan for three months waling 3 times a week in following the program i was allowed so many food points a day i found difficulty haveing to keep looking for the points and keep track of them and keep referring back to the papers because i could not remember waht each food number was with this program i found it difficult to make it to the support meeting that are very crucial with success of this diet do to my work schedule so my exercise habits and eating habits reverted to what they were before resulting in weight regain

Trim Spa-starting at 320pound(55pound weight loss) from january 2004 to july 2005 I incorporated a 1500 calorie diet plan and going to the gym five to six times a week during this diet plan i was diagnosed with hypertension mixing these pills wigh the blood pressure medication would not be in my best interest incedentally weight loss medications work only wile you are takeing the medication suppressing my appetite but once i had quite takeing them my apatite came back resulting in weight gain well takeing all of these pill i experienced side effects do to these medications stimulating my nerves makeing my jittery shake and hard for me to sleep at night

xenadrine-2002 I tried this diet in may with little weight loss i did this diet plan with a 1500 calorie food intake this year my husband was stationed in Korea I had waight gaing to 320 well he wa goindo to depression I tried this plan for a shor time but do to stomeach intestinal pain causing diarrhea i had to stop this after just a few day and i missed some work do to the diarrhea associated wigh takeing these pills .

slim fast-2002 I tried to do this shake diet but do to the shakes i had nausea and stomach cramping and had to stop this after about a week I did not lose with this diet as it did not agree wigh my body

cabbage soup diet-2000 I did this diet for a short time i experience gassiness with this and loose stool the soup became repulsive

Richard simmons deal a meal and videos
-April 1997 starting at 230 pounds i did this diet plan and incorporated the exercise videos with it 3 times a wee i lost the excess wight getting my weight down to 190 pounds on this diet i was also running on th track team at my school i was able to keep this weight off for a short period of time about two years over time i became relaxed with my eating habits revertied band and had some weight gaine

TOPS1995 I did TOPS for 4 months for 30 pound weight loss during this time i was in school the Tops meetings were more geared at a older group of people i found it hard to relate and get the support i was looking for which resulted in me dropping out of the program and i went back to the old eating habits and regain.

blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ok thats it there are probly a hundered spelling errors and miss types but it i 1:00 am here and this sista is getting sleepy please let me know what ya think
