Default Sinus meds

Well POLLEN season is upon us once again. I used to live on excedrin migraine, but of course I can't do that anymore.

I have emailed my doc in Venezulea several times about what meds to take, but no answer(hes real good about not answering) now I have the full blown migraine/ sinus drainage yucky stuff. I am planning to go to my gp, but he is not too familiar with what I can and can't take.(mostly what I have gleened off of here and what I can find on WLS medical sites.) Anything I can tell him?

TIA

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Oh, ouch, ((((((HUGS)))))

You'll need to avoid anything that is known to cause ulcers--such as most of the pain meds, and steroids, but as far as I know, anti-histamines, and other purely allergy meds shouldn't be a problem.
Let me see--I think Janae and also Deborah have a bad time this time of the year--finding out what they are prescribed by their surgeons might be a good idea.

Wasn't there a thread about this going on this time last year as well?

(((((((((HUGS)))))))) I hope you'll be feeling better soon.

DOC is right again! I suppose that is why she is a DOC huh. LOL. Somthing that might give you some relief.......its over the counter... We precirbed it until it went over the counter at the ENT office I work at. Mucinex. Or Mucinex D. What happens is that ..... you sinuses get clogged up like glue. This med thins it out letting it out so you can ....well blow it out LOL. If its scored (AKA got a line down it) cut it in half... If it tells you to take one every 6 hours take a half every 3. That way your body will absorb it better. This will help you until you get to your GP. He will probally precribe a nasal spray most likely or a med. Something you can use right now but not for more than 7 days....is Afrin or the generic.

Its habit forming after 7 days so stop it before then. It will open you up and relieve you headache. This is my area of expertise for sure LOL. I have to test for allergys and mix the serums up for injections. Try this and see you GP. I hope this helped some. Take care! Oh..and my Drs say .....pray for rain....it cuts down on the pollen but not to much because the molds will grow.......sigh cant have it the way we need it huh!

Opps forgot one thing. Go to Walmart to get the Mucinex. Its much cheaper there. If you go into a pharmarcy your gonna get sticker shock. In Walmart you will pay between 7-9 bucks. The Afrin or Generic you can find that anywhere. We buy it from .......the DOLLAR TREE! to use at work when we have to exlpore the sinus. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone. I took some benadryl and layed down this afternoon. No help there . My neighbor called and I went for a 2 mile walk. dissapated a tad but now its back with a vengence.

I'm gonna try my neti pot before I go to bed and take some tylenol sinus. It will be later this week before I get an appt. I usually carry these migraines for 4 to 5 days.
