Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Michelle, I was told it could be up to 7-10days. but I had loose stools the day after for about a week, and then I have a bowel movement every day. But....some people go days without one. we don't take in much food so it makes sense. Everyone is very different. I am sure others will be along with more comments. What did your surgeon say?

I am pretty much in agreement with HIppie Chick.
The first few days I had diarrhea... almost scary. Took pro biotic pearls to clear that up. I pretty much have a bowel movement every day NOW, but back then every 2 or 3? days??
Keep in mind, you have new pipes that are still healing; you haven't eaten much food. Not much going in? Not much going out!
Some have discussed constipation and Miralax is often suggested. You surgeon can help you with this...also talk with support group if you are able.
Good luck!!

Some loose stuff about 3 days after surgery and now about every 3rd or 4th day.

Hey! How you feeling?

I had my first movement about 4 days after surgery, and it was very loose, stayed that way for about a week then it firmed up. I usually have a BM at least once a day, but I take 2 colace and 2 Senna every night because I was having problems with constipation after surgery, I still have a bout every now and then, I add Miralax when I need to, usually once every other week or so, for a few days.

I had surgery 2 days ago and I started passing a little bit of gas today. I don't recall my surgeon saying anything about bowel movements at first. I see him on Monday for my 1 wk post op appt and I'll be sure to check with him. Thanks everyone for the info!

I peed out my butt for 2 weeks. First one about 3 or 4 days after surgery. Then it went the opposite. I was bound up. I had been on stool softeners up until now. I am curious what my bm's will be like without gall bladder and other issues cleared up. Be sure to drink your fluids though...do NOT get dehydrated! In a couple of weeks this will be a memory....best wishes!

...well, I'm old. I'm two years out and I can't remember when I had my first movement after surgery. I think it was about the 3rd or 4th day. Prior to surgery I always had runny stool. Now I have firm and "go" about every other day.
Good luck.
