| Super Moderator | It is actually too early to stretch your pouch. Have you ever read the Pouch Rules? If not, this may be a good time to do so. There is also a list of links to some threads that may be of interest and use to you in tne Links thread, so take a look there and read the threads linked in there. As for drinking with meals--first off, what do you drink? Is it water? Or something like soup? Why do you find it difficult not to drink during your meals? Maybe your food is too salty? If it is, be sure to make them less salty, as salty taste will make you feel thirsty. Also, if you do not sate your body with water enough before meals, you will be dehydrated, and that will make you crave liquids during your meals. Check out the Pouch Rules I have linked in above, and practice water loading, this will help keep your body loaded with water, so you won't feel thirsty. Now, if you feel the need to drink with meals because you have difficulty swallowing your food especially when the food is *dryish*, then, it is fine to moisten it just a little so it will go down easier. Just a sip to help you swallow, that is all, and be careful those sips don't total out to a cup, because in that case, the water will fill your pouch for a while, which will make you feel full for a short time, then wash the food out of your pouch too quickly, and you'll end up feeling fungry early. The feeling of hunger will also depend some on the texture of the food. Protein and veggies, which takes longer to digest, will keep you full longer than carbs which are digested faster. The hard part for you right now is, you are able to eat more, so, this it the time you have to start consciously regulating your eating, and controlling it so you can set up a healthy eating habit for life. (((((((HUGS))))))

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | DOC pretty much summed things up for ya. IT really depends on the kind of food were eating how fast i will get full. WHEN i follow my pouch rules i eat the least when its a protein....also the protein keeps me fuller far longer then a carb food of some sort. I would work harder on the no drinking with your meals. Its not easy but it is a pouch rule for us. HANG in there
