Has anyone heard of anyone getting the roux en Y and it not working??

What do you mean by not working? Do you mean regaining weight, or not losing?
Well, gastric bypass is ONLY a TOOL to facilitate weightloss, so, yes, if you misuse your pouch, the surgery will not succeed, and there have been people who have misued their pouch, and the result reflecting that. That's why you need to follow the Pouch Rules for the rest of your life, once you have the surgery, and your stomach is reconstructed into a small pouch.
In other words, so long as you abide by the rules and instructions your surgeon sets up for you, you will not fail, you will succeed.

Well everyone looses but the long term success is really based on how well a person has worked on their eating habits...........

I know im struggling these days......
I heard recently only 10 percent continue to maintain their weight loss
and thas a scary number and i know were am its not easy.....

this surgery isnt magic. REQUIRES total change in eating forever. WITHOUT that commitment it can fail you and a regain!!!

I have heard of a people having to get a band on their pouch. I don't think it is because they have been bad or not followed "pouch rules " or whatever else some who have been so successful might say but sometimes rny just isn't a long term help. There are a lot of problems with it and I wonder now about the long term problems
