Default Is Peanut Butter OK?

I've been looking thru my papers and some posts and I dont see anywhere that anyone has mentioned peanut butter. I am only 3 weeks post op and finding that a lot is NOT upsetting my pouch, however, I want to make sure that I'm not doing something wrong or about to hurt myself in some terrible way by dipping my finger in the peanut butter jar lol. Does anyone know??

(I know to look out for fat and sugars, but other than that is it ok?)

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Kenyar, I am 6 weeks out and I have my notes from my pre-surgery classes through Kaiser Permanente. On weeks 3-6, the 'soft & moist' stage, my diet sheets say: Natural Peanut Butter( smooth only) 2Tablespoons; 8 g Protein, 200 calories, 2 g sugar. I guess with the high peanut butter calorie content I would have had to have a really light eating day to want to use that many calorie, HOWEVER, I bought smooth Jiff p-nut butter and a tsp and only a tsp hit the spot. It's a rough call. I did experience a 'knot' in the middle of my chest after eating it...it really is tough going down but it did taste yum-o. Oh, I also gave it away to my grandkids after a week and 1/2 a jar later....teehee. It was too good!

I hope im not speaking out of term here..... my best friend who had this done relieded heavly upon peanut better as her protein because she was having trouble keeping anything else down. She kept a jar in her car, one at work, and of course at home. Now of course I would wait until one of these pros on here tell you yes or no first but that is what kept her goin until she could tolerate. Just a teaspoon of smooth is what she did. She said she savored that like a nice big juicy steak before her surgery.

But like I said.... let the pros on here answer it before you try it ok? LOL I dont want you spending a ill night on my account.

Take care Kenyar.

I think I read somewhere someone doing peanut butter with apples.
Nuts and beans (legumes) are good protein sources. However, nuts are also high in fat, so be careful that you don't let it get out of hand.

Hi there. Im the peanut butter on apples gal.... Even early out i used no sugar added applesauce with some peanutbutter..yummy. As i moved farther out i started the peeled apples with peanutbutter and still do it today. I also add peanutbutter to my banana. I love peanutbutter. I dont use alot and therefor I can tolerate the simple skippy or peter pan brands....I do like the natural no sugar added as well. Whatever is on sale here in this house lol... As long as you can tolerate it and dont eat to much just like everything else on this journey you should be fine.

I really can't remember early on if I did peanut butter or not. However there have been days that first thing in the morning all I could get down was a tablespoon of PB..i have to do ones that have NO corn syrup or honey or molasses so I try for the natural or ones that have sugar regular that is if that. I use nuts a lot for snacks and a quick protein. But I also eat a higher fat content ratio than most.

oh and maybe this is out of turn but I did want to mention that even 5 yrs out (5/17!) first thing in the morning I cannot get much down my stomach..larger amount futher on in the day but first thing..lucky if I can get 1/2 a protein bar! So things like PB are great for me..I have a recipe for a PB protein/oatmeal bar with nuts in it that is a good take along food.
