I'm getting WLS surgery for the health reasons, I don't want anyone to think I'm not but I am only 23. High School wasn't that long ago for me and being a heavy girl in high school was torture.
I am looking forward to having a moment where I run into someone from high school who treated me like dirt and called me all sorts of names just because I was overweight. I know maybe it's dumb to think like that but I just want to be like, yeah just try to call me lard a** now.
Maybe it's a fantasy but I think it's sort of fun.
Anybody have a thought like this?

Well I didn't but then I was 52 years old when I had my surgery. But I'm happy for you that you are taking control of your life now and doing something about your weight before it gets worse. And hey if you happen to run in to those H.S. people that made fun of you I don't think thumbing your nose at them would hurt! LOL

I only wish I could have had my surgery at 23! But I am wasting no time now!! I first and foremost love feeling so healthy, but I must admit when I run into people I haven't seen in awhile, I just love it when they ooooh and aaaaah over my change. I think that's just a little reward we get from all the hard work. But I don't ever want to become vain about it, you know what I mean. But yes, thumbing the nose is permissible, at least once!!

I don't know about the rest of the culture, but puerto ricans have this bad habit of greeting someone they haven't seen in a long time with, "you've gotten fat". So I know what you mean. I usually don't care what people think because they don't pay my rent, but it would be nice for someone to say, 'wow! You look amazing" for a change. People are mean, but don't dwell on the ignorance of high schoolers, just concentrate on your bright future ahead with the new you. Good luck.

I work with someone (I can not rightly call him a gentleman) who repeatedly called me fat, made jokes, and was overall very hurtful for the entire time that I had known him. In the last year, I have lost 200 pounds, as he has gained nearly 100 pounds. I never mock or try to be hurtful, but I do offer him my old clothing. The look on his face when he realized that he would fit into them was justice enough for me.

It's even better than you can imagine! When you run into them, they won't recognize you. You can have so much fun messing with their minds as you see the wheels turning in their heads. They're trying to avoid admitting they don't know you, wondering who this person is who knows so much about them, and not wanting to look foolish by asking for your name, all at the same time!!
The possibilities are endless for how you can torture them!! Especially if it's one of the catty girls who made your life hell and is now putting on a little ...
