Hello everyone, I had my RNY on november 8... Long story short I've been in and out of the hospital since. I contracted MRSA and still have an open wound in my abdomen that's 8x8 and 4 in deep. I have a wound vacc to help close it from the inside out. I weighed in at 310 and I'm now 262. The problem is that I haven't lost any weight in a month. I've stayed the same... The weight came off fast probably bc I was so sick and not eating at all while in the hospital. Now that ive been home as of 12/30 I've been eating and drinking more.
I'm so worried this surgery was all for nothing. Between the doctors forcing me to chug contrast liquid for catscans and water with medications I'm afraid my pouch is horribly stretched out and I will no longer lose the weight. I'm so stressed and sick of this wound I could scream. I'm in constant pain and this wound is keeping me bed ridden which is making me FAT! Ugh please help!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board! First of all, Im sorry you had such horrible complications...I cant imagine how frustrated you must be at this point. As far as the weight loss, your body has been through a major surgery and complications to boot. Everyone has stalls, just follow the weight loss rules and you will begin losing again.

Hi Lilly, I do in home care and have cared and changed wound back dressings. If your bed ridden you should call your Dr. With a little pain med help, saline moist dressing install you should be able to be pretty active. My last lady at 325 was using a peddler sitting in her recliner as well as bicep curls with soup cans. Just ideas. Please talk to care provider, also injecting saline into pump hose, letting sit a few minutes then start change helps decrease pain and pulling. Hang in there. Hope it heals quick.

You're about at the right time for a nice big stall. Everyone goes through this. Don't worry. Once your incision is healed, you will be losing nicely.

I'm so sorry to hear you had complications. I pray your incision heals quickly and your stall is broken so you may begin losing weight and be a bit more at ease. Get well soon.
