Protein is protein, whether liquid or solid. Your body can only handle 20-25 g at a time, so if you eat a protein bar with 30 g (besides the 420 calories!) you'll be peeing out a third or so of it.
Soup is tricky. Soup has solids and liquids. The 30-30 rule gets difficult to define. I make a lot of stews and really thick soups. When I eat soup (and I only trust my own to have the right stuff and no wrong stuff in it) I'll drink the broth first, then go for the solids. If I made something with the ingredients you listed, I'd make it as a thick stew. That combination sounds good!
Have you tried a 15-bean mix? Beans have lots of protein, as do split peas and lentils. Meat has lots of protein. You can even thicken with eggs, which have lots of protein.
Recently I was making a big pot of chili and threw in a can of refried beans. Lots of protein, and it thickened the chili better than corn starch or masa!!
Do some research in soups and stews in the Recipes sub-forum. Lots of tried-n-true tricks and ideas in there for you!
Boiled eggs are fine. We were traveling this morning and I stopped at a c-store and picked up a couple of boiled eggs. They were good! Cheese is good too. Just keep one eye on the fat content.
There is so much more in life than cottage cheese!!
Good luck!!
