I am thinking that my weight loss journey might be at an end. And to be frank, I would consider it a sucess. I think it is now time to begin my weight maintanience journey. To remain healthy and happy. The reason I do not think that this is a stall is that I have hit my goal weight.

My question is this: Every morning that I weigh myself I see a different number. Over the last few weeks I have fluxed from 175 to 184. Is it normal to move this much? It is only a couple of pounds either way in a given day, but it is surprising to me to see it move so far either way. I thought once I got to this weight, it would just magically hold. I know that is silly, but that is honestly what I had thought of it.

Should I be worried about:
1. Hitting my goal weight so quickly
2. My wight moving so much everyday
3. That I worry too much?

Thank so much for all your help!

Oaspio

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to maintenance! It's a different phase than you've been in for the last 6 months or so. You have done extremely well!! Everyone loses at a different rate, and guys lose faster than the ladies anyway. Enjoy where you are!

It's not unusual to have your weight move around a bit. It's actually unrealistic to expect it to remain at one fixed number for any length of time. Mine fluctuates +/- 3-4 pounds, and at my 4-year checkup this week the surgeon was very pleased with where I am. The "goal" number is arbitrary anyway. Your body knows where he wants to be, and he'll stay there as long as you don't fight him. Over the next year or two you may put 10% or a bit more back on. I bottomed at 159.

Worry too much? Well, considering you've never been here before, I'd say you're just trying to find out where you are and what's happening. Your reflexes are tuned to losing weight, and they need recalibration to this new phase. I see it more as curiosity and concern than worry.

Don't sweat it. You're where you need to be, doing what you need to be doing. Just keep following the rules. Look for weight trends, not short changes. React to the trends by adjusting your healthy intake. Ignore the daily fluctuations.

Good luck, brother!

Hi Oaspio, I think CT probably hit things on the nail so I don't have anything to add other than my weight fluctuates 5 - 6 lbs daily!

Congrats on doing so well.
You may actually lose a few more, but no need to worry. Just make sure aoo the good habits you need to have in place are in place.
