| weird noises
Hello fellow weight loss survivors,
As I'm approaching my 3-month post op date, I've begun to noticed that my stomach makes these weird noises especially while I'm in class at night. I know I'm not hungry nor am I thirsty. Before WLS, I would think that will be the reasons. There's no pain associated with it either. I've taken Gas-X to remedy it, but it doesn't work. Tums taste like fruity chalk. I don't know what to do because its loud, embarassing, and interferes with class. Any suggestions???
- Valerie

| Could it be related to the food you eat before class? I think WLS has caused some noise for me, but not consistently. Perhaps it will stop? Hope so. Would sucking on a hard candy help? You can get sugar free online at nutsonline.com Just a thought.

I'm a little more than a week out and mine does it any time anything goes into my mouth. And since I'm sipping water ALL.....DAY.....LONG, well, I guess you can figure out that my tummy makes noises all day long. I say its my tummy thanking me.

I usually get a warning sign first: the constant burping. I assume its gas and maybe I swallowed too much air. I'm going to bring it up when I see my doctor next week! I usually eat my dinner before class & that was like two hours before. But I took two Gas-X before class started, hoping that it would at least buffer the sounds. To my surprise, not at all.

Mine does it all the time too. Especially embarrasing sitting next to people during meetings cause it's the strangest sounds.

I am four months post-op and im so glad im not the only person with this problem. I am actually sitting here with my stomach making these noises now..... I will be sitting in class and the next thing you know, my stomach is making all this rumbeling noise. It is so annoying!!! I can say, it is a nice feeling knowing that at least your not hungary when your stomach growls.

Get used to it
Gas-X will not help, drinking a lot of water sometimes helps a little, but basically, just get used to it. Pouches are noisy things. The funny part is, after awhile you'll be able to tell happy noises from grumpy noises. Nothing funnier than eating something new and having pouchy make a happy glurping sound.

Sure, I'm 4 years post, but I still have the occasional pouchquake. Lets me know it's still working down there!
