Default Strange Pain

I had surgery in May with no issues so far. Have lost 104, more than I had anticipated. At any rate, I now have a gallstone, but no real symptoms so no surgery. I have started to have some strange sharp burning pains in my shoulder blades towards my armpits. They are real short in duration but really hurt. I noticed that a jolt, like sitting too quick or jumping will cause the pain.

Anybody experienced these? No other symptoms I can report.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Last Summer I was getting sharp pains in that area, too. Like a few sharp bee stings right in a row. I went to my Chiro guy cause I though maybe I was getting a pinched nerve, and he told me that it sounded to him like I might be getting shingles. Well, I didn't end up getting shingles and the symptoms went away after several weeks. I did a search on the internet and found that a lot of people were describing the same sort of thing and ended up being nothing.

It could be just intercostal neuralgia (nerve pain of the nerves that run along the lower side of your ribs) but it also could be your gall stones acting up. Ask your dr to be sure you're on the safe side.

I had gallstones going into surgery with one prior (unknown to me) "attack." The surgeon debated taking out my gallbladder when he was in there but between him and another surgeon, they decided not to.

8 months later I was under the knife again to have the damn thing removed. The surgeon said it was filled with stones and scar tissue (caused by inflammation, or attacks). When I figured out what the attack entailed, it was very painful gas-like pains throughout my right side and up into my shoulder. The first one I was aware of lasted about 2.5 hrs. The second one lasted about 6 hrs (and I had to break into my Percoset stash to get through the pain).

Definitely call your doc and describe the pain you're having. Maybe another scan of the gallbladder might be called for. Good luck and feel better!

I was thinking gall bladder pain - it can be in that area - I'd talk to your doc
