Default New Type of Pain

Today marks 2 weeks since my surgery. Up to a couple of days ago the pain was pretty much limited to the big incision site. Then a few days ago I started getting this pain near the incision, or at the incision, next to my belly button. I can feel it occasionally when I'm sitting but mostly after I get up from sitting or every time I try to bend over. It's a sharp pain like something poking me from the inside. Hurts like 'ell. About brought me to tears a few times and I think I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Anybody else have this happen to them? How long did it last?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Please call your doctor. I had a pain like that from a different surgery and it turned out to be a hernia. You need to know if it could be that or something else.

Call your doctor anyway. Your profile doesn't say if you had lap RNY or open and if you've lost any weight yet. I'm kind of thinking it was an open RNY since you said big incision. Anyway, it could be scar tissue pulling, it could be intestine getting twisted, or herniating, or it could be nothing. No way for us to tell. Call your Doc.

The best advice given: Call your doc!
You had surgery, muscles and nerves were cut and sewn together, etc.
It all takes time to grow back together and mend. It may not be anything, but
CALL YOUR DOC!! Talk to the expert!!
Good luck.

If you haven't called your surgeon already, do it now.
