I don't know if anyone has had this issue. My surgeon gave me the good bill of health last week and things were going well. Sunday I couldn't move I was in pain on my left side. Monday I was doubled over.

I spent the day and evening in the emergency room under going tests. Everything came out fine. They didn't listen to me when I told them I haven't passed gas in a few days. So I took things in my own hands. My doctor and I were hoping the IBS would not flair up with me being on little food and liquid diet for a few weeks. But I believe that is what has happened. I took some stool softener added in apple juice and apple sauce and I'm actually able to move today. I'm still in pain but tolerable. It has taken me two days to get a little back to "normal" with my bowels. My pain medication wasn't even helping with the pain, and it was more of the cause. So My first learning lesson since my surgery is don't get stopped up after surgery as it can cause a great deal of pain. As you are not eating enough food to cause stool to be seen on an ultra sound or cat scan so they won't even acknowledge that. With the IBS my bowel swelled it put pressure on my surgery wounds and down I went. I will be seeing my surgeon every week now for the next few weeks.

And now I'm back on liquids for another week.
Anyone else have ideas or been through this?
