Default Stall...help??

Ok, I know others have posted about this and I am getting frustrated. I reached my 6 mths back in November, about 1 week later it is like I hit a brick wall..weight loss just stopped. I also wasn't losing inches like others have said. I didn't lose ANYTHING for 6 weeks, than I lost 5 lbs. During that 6 weeks I changed my work out (higher intensity, longer time on treadmill, more reps with weights etc). I also increased my calories by about 100 per day and than dropped it back down. Now I am 9 months out and the total lost for the last 3 months has been 18 lbs. I have about 25 lbs to reach my personal goal of 140. I go to the gym 5 - 6 days a week, spend 45 - 60 min on the treadmill and 3 of those days I weight lift too for 30 min. Is my 18 lb weight loss for months 6 - 9 average?? What can I expect for the next 3 months? I was really hoping to reach my goal by 1 year out, but the way this is going I don't think I will...any suggestions, advice...Please!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

The standard curve of losing is the first half of the excess weight in the first 6 months, the next quarter in the next 6 months, and the last quarter over the next 6-12 months. How does your weight loss compare to that?
I think you're doing very well.

The doc is right...of course. Something else to keep in mind, the less you weigh, the less you loss. When I weighed 318 lbs, I was exercising with each bathroom trip. It took more energy (calories) to get me up. Also maybe you have exchanged some fat for muscle!!!
None the less..... great job!!!!!!

Thanks Doc and MSMonica. I am really thrilled with my weight loss just frustrated at how all of a sudden the weight loss slowed, almost stopped. I am hoping some of the fat has been exchanged for muscle too!! I am thinking of going back to liquids for a while to see if that helps. Is it possible I am exercising too much for the amount of calories I am taking in..the starvation mode thing?

NEVER EVER do this, unless there's a MEDICAL reason for doing so. Unable to hold down solids due to strictures or ulcers, or a stomach bug, things like that.
THIS IS NOT A DIET. It is a lifestyle chanege for your lifetime, and this means, you have to get rid of your old diet mentality--I'm not losing weight, so I'm going to do something drastic about my intake. This type of thinking will throw you right back to yo-yo dieting, which did you no good at all. What didn't work in the past isn't going to work now, or in the future either.
Just stick to the program, and up your intake as needed, balance your menu wisely, and leave the rest up for your body to work on. Patience is the name of the game.

Thanks again Doc..you are so right about the diet mentality..it is very easy to fall back into that mode. I will keep doing what I am doing. I go in for my 9 month check up next Tuesday and I do meet with my dietition too. Thanks for helping all of us stay on the right track!! You are very much appreciated!!!

don't get discouraged your body is just getting use to the new you. It may take you a little longer than you expected but don't let it get you down. Sometimes you have to take a step back and relax. look at what your eating and write everything down.

Thanks Deb..guess I am so close to "my" goal that I am getting very impatient to get there. I still keep a food journal..actually an app on my phone helps me keep track of intake (calories, protein, fat & carbs), exercise and weight. I still measure/weigh out my portions too. If I don't I am afraid I will end up eating too much and not really know how many calories burned or taken in on a daily basis. I want to suceed at this journey for life and not just for a short amount of time.
