Default miralax & dulcolax

Ok so I need to go to the bathroom so bad but don't want to strain and have this hernia possibly pop out, I still think the constipation I have had is what caused these hernias anyway I took some miralax about an hour ago with my protein shake and wondered if it's too soon to take some dulcolax now, that works better for me and I really should have taken it instead of the miralax but didn't. So do you think I could take it now or should I wait it out a little bit and see if I'm able to go?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

well, I've had to take 4 dose of miralax this week to finally get some relief - I think I need to add senna back into my regimen - I'm on pravastatin, which can cause constipation - and then add the high protein, low fat diet and I've been having issues. My pcp recommends senna (like senokot) because it's mild - I used to take it daily - need to start doing that again.

I don't know if taking the dulcolax now is safe, but I just wanted to share that it takes me multiple doses of miralax before I get relief from it

I would take the dulcolax because it takes Miralax days to really work. I have better luck having it with hot drinks. I put it in my coffee every morning and i have no problem but if I don't take it everyday look out there is a problem. I hope you find something that will "work" because you sure don't need to get constipated now for sure. I hope you are feeling better today.

Dixie I normally take it with diet hot chocolate but didn't really feel like having that this morning so I just threw some in my protein shake. I have finally passed a little gas which has helped me feel a little better I think I'll wait a bit then go ahead and take the dulcolax.

I'm pretty sore today and just can't seem to keep from dozing off all the time. I'm going to try and wait until this evening to take any more pain meds. It's not unbearable pain so I think I can manage without it for now.
Hopefully in a day or two I'll be more perky, this just kinda stinks ya know?

It definitely stinks. There is nothing fun about surgery. I hope your tummy issues are resolved soon and you go back to feeling great!

you can take the dulcolax if you want to. The real issue would be if you happen to over-stimulate yourself and then get a bit runny. Sorry you're having such a difficult time. In the "business" we also try things like prunes, applesauce and even graham crackers (some hospitals mix those last two together in a 2 oz cup for patients) as a daily supplement for chronically constipated patients. Some sort of daily routine is usually better than the meds......although I know you need the relief. Any type of dried fruit like an apricot might help also. I know you want to watch carbs, I guess it's whatever you think is best for your bowel upkeep

At this point I'm not real concerned about carbs since I'm not eating much so I might try the prune & graham cracker trick NR or just the prunes. I haven't gone yet but since I've been able to pass gas I feel slightly better. Ahhh the thing we WLS people talk about! LOL
