Default Staples Coming Loose?

Someone mentioned that a complication of their recovery was that two staples came loose at the duodenal connection. Just wondering what causes that and how you know it has happened.

Thanks

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I thought the person was several months out, so the loose staples are probably nothing more than an incovenience that caused some pain, and no need for re-stapling.

Since she had a couple of dilations for stricutures, the process may have loosened up a couple of staples that later popped completely.
Or, though I can't say for sure unless I see some pics, ir's possible that the staples on the edge of the tissues that were stapled together (not the inner ones, the outer ones) came loose after the tissue themselves merged together and are sealed tightly by healing completely. Our body has a tendency to *cast out* foreign objects, so after the healing, the staples being foreign objects close enough to the surface got *cast out*.

A woman showed up at my hospital room because she heard from someone that I was in there, she was all like oh hi, what did you have done? I was really upset that she was sticking her nosy ass in there, but then she decided to tell me that a woman she knew had that happen to her, her staples came lose, her intestines flew about uncontrolled inside her and she almost died of peritonitis. I wanted to throw something at her

, Violet! You should've! I have no idea why people feel the need to share the most horrible story they can think of about someone's surgery, pregnancy, whatever - that's SO freaking insensitive!!! And why in the hell she was there in the first place when you hadn't invited her, asking about what you'd had done??? How RUDE!!! I don't care if she was in the hospital for something else - unless you're CLOSE friends with someone and they TOLD you that they were going to be in the hospital for surgery, you should NOT "drop by" or even go visit theml!! I'm so sorry that rude cow ticked you off....

Thanks,Doc. I was thinking that the staples were a temporary connection point until the connection healed and merged. I was concerned I was wrong about that and had to be on the lookout for the ret of my life for something similar. THAT would definitely be something I would want to know before surgery. Thanks for clearing that up.

Betsy and Dorothy, I did not tell a sole but my wife, kids, and 1 client who had previously had the surgery himself and counseled me through the process that I was having surgery. The kids, both teens, slept till the crack of noon and by the time they made it to the hospital I was already walking around. My be client stopped by later that day and we chatted with me and my wife. That means during surgery it was only my wife. I did not want nosy people at the hospital or thereafter. The only other people who know are a husband and wife in my church who just happened to do my surgical preop and postop and recognized me from church.

Beyond that group, no one knows I had surgery though I suspect they suspect, especially the other folks at church who see me only once a week. What is troublesome is the number of people who ask for advice on weight loss. I've come up with a stock answer of portion control and protein, both of which are true. For those who are truly concerned about their own weight, I will invite them to lunch and tell them the complete story so they can make up their own mind. But the idly curious I just brush back.

Nosy nellies! Sounds like an urban legend to me. I'd take any story told to me with that level of "detail" with a huge grain of salt. Look up the definition of an urban legend. That story fits.

I also vote that she had no business getting into your business. Here's a perfect line for her. "Oh! Didn't I tell you about this?" While she shakes her head you say, "That's because it's NONE of your business!" lololol
