I know what it is... bread, from last Monday night's dinner.. garlic bread to be exact. I can feel it moving, very slowly. My problem is I have not pooped since Tuesday morning, and I am SO unforfortable!!!!!!!!!! I have tried, EVERYTHING I KNOW!!!!! Hot tea, coffee (which always makes me go!), stool softeners, Benifiber s/f chewables, I've added fiber to my water and am drinking, and drinking...... eating fruit! My "plug" as I have named it is moving, but every so slowly, and it is driving me nuts... at the end of the day my belly is so bloated I look 7 month pregant!!! From the food I ate, but it has no where to go... Any ideas other than time as to what I can do??? "It" is below my belly button now, but still not sure how long before it makes it's way out. Sorry for the great topic everyone...

The first thing I suggest is call your PCP or your surgeon, if you are still to follow up with him/her. Since you are almost 6 years post op, you may have been directed back to your PCP for your follow ups, which is why I am suggesting your PCP in your case. Anyway, since it's a week since you ate the bread, by now, it should have broken down into almost nothingness, the fact that you still feel it as a lump may say that there is more than a lump of bread. You may not like it, but enema probably is the best method for you at this point. Hence, time to get your dr into the act. (((((((HUGS)))))))) Hang in there, hope you feel better soon. BTW, moving this to Stupid Qs as it is where this type of thread belongs.
