Angry Um....I think I need clarification

I've been reading thru some posts, and it seems to be that the general opinion is that carbs and articifical sweetners are the culrpits when it comes to stalls.

um....WHAT?????? MY MEAL PLAN FROM MY DR SAYS EAT SALTINES AND TUNA FOR LUNCH! I've eaten 3-4 of them almost every day either with peanut butter, or turkey, or cheese, or tuna for the past few weeks.

Also, of course I use artificial sweeteners because I cant tolerate sugar. SO i'm not losing porribly because of THIS?

PS. You can tell me if i am blowing this out of proportion. Im just a little PO'ed because I follow the darn plan to the best of my ability and even the slightest possibility of the plan being whats screwing me up is making me mad. ARRRRRRRGGH

*sigh*

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well i have never said that carbs and artificial sweetners cause stalls.
FOR mer personally they cause more eating...dont fill me.

I will say my secret for never haveing an official stall during my looseing
honeymoon was strawberries. WHEN i saw a week slowing up i used those in my eating and weight came off.
STALLS are going to happen. FOR me i do the best looseing when i eat very high protein and the lo carb that i eat helps me control between meal eating. I do hear its those products are made to do that to us and i know there TROUBLE for me.
YOU are currently between the 4 and 5 month point and that is a the 2nd
stall people experience. THE first being very early out between weeks 4 and 6. RELAX eat as your surgeon said and the weight will start to come off. I strontly recommend you put the scale away and dont get on it but maybe once every two weeks or even once a month to no make your self crazy over the numbers. IT gets stressful, i know from my personal experience...been there with the scale and found it brouhht my moods down when i didnt like the rate it was comeing off.

oops sorry i counted wrong i am outside on my lap with bad glare and not wearing my glasses!!! SORRY...
but strawberries were my secret would i have had the same rapid loss
without them i dont know. BUTG when i saw the scale slowing down i put them in my eting as a snack at the advice of others around me.

MAYBE post a typical eating day for you....
so we can see whats going on . IT is known not
eating ENOUGH will cause the body to hold on to fat
then release it...sort of a starvation mode.
RELAX your going to loose i promise
and sorry that i read your surgery date wrong.....

hmmmm typical day of eating: during the week
B: whites and cheese on wheat toast (1/2 sandwich)
S: 3 or 4 crackers with tuna or peanut butter
L: shake (atkins advantage mixed with 1 scoop isopure)
D:1/2 chicken breast (if i can get it down. by then i am stuffed)

Generally speaking in addition i get about 32 ozs of water or crystal light in addition to the shake, plus a cup of coffee which would put me at only about 50 ozs of fluid for the day I know i need at least 64...

on the weekends generally:
B: shake (* today i had chilli with meat and beans - wierd craving)
L: shake
S: canned fruit or 100 calorie pack of something (crackers or granola bar)
D: tuna on crackers or peanut butter on wheat toast (1/2)

the thing is, i dont eat this everyday. i substitute meats here and there, but for the most part i have crackers pr toast at least once a day each.

Maybe i am not eating enough? I dont know. I feel STUFFED by 3 or 4 in the afternoon...

First off, don't stress.
You're at the point a lot of people hit the first stall.
So, how's your inches, your clothes? I figure they're getting looser, that's where you're losing right now, not your scales.
Remember, your body underwent a drastic change, it is still reeling from it, and trying to adjust, and stalls are just that. You lose, not in one fell swoop and whoosh, but go bumpty bump, and I know you understand that very well. Sometimes, though, even knowing, when it actually happens, it will stress you out. Rest assured, your body ain't done, not this early. It's just trying to catch its breath.

A change of pace is good, though, with the same pattern, our bodies do tend to get complacent, and get a bit lazy. If you can up your intake just a bit, preferably protein, but other stuff like strawberries are fine, too.

(((((((HUGS)))))))) You'll make it through fine.

Thanks Lisa and Doc. I guess in my mind I WANT it to be something i can control as opposed to it just being a plateau??? I somehow feel responsible for not losing. I will be patient.

Lisa, thanks for the strawberry idea. I went to the store and got some. They are nice and ripe and juicy YUM. This is my first real fruit since surgery. YUM. ( I was eating the no sugar added canned stuff because i was afraid that fresh fruit would make me dump)

There are a number of oldies here who will swear by strawberries.
This is an experience type of thing. No statistical data here, sorry.
Probably part of it is that though fruits have a kind of sugar, fructose, in them, fruits basically are vitamins, fiber, and water, so it's both yummy and good for you.

As for the control factor... I notice that a lot of you are upset when you can't control something that in general is difficult to control, and I know a number of folks have admitted they are control freaks, and getting upset that they can't control something is what sends them off track.
So, 1), don't freak out, that can very well get you off track, 2) take things one day at a time, and most important, 3) you'll probably have to learn to take life on life's term, not on your term.

((((((((HUGS))))))))
